My fiancee is going for her interview in just a couple days. In the past she indicated she would be arriving in the US at LAX. However, now I am finding a better price on airfare with a flight landing in Chicago. I am going to call the embassy, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue...

05/23/09 : Letter from embassy Received

07/13/09 : Medical Exam @ St Luke

07/30/09 : Interview Schedule

08/04/09 : Visa Received

12/09/09 : Husband's Arrival in the Philippines

12/19/09 : Pre-nuptial Banquet in the Philippines

01/06/10 : Flight to US with my husband

01/07/10 : US Arrival , Chicago as POE

03/18/10 : Wedding Day!!!! :-)

07/12/10 : Medical Exam by US Civil Surgeon

08/18/10 : Day 1 Sent AOS Package

08/21/10 : Day 3 AOS Package Received by USCIS Chicago LockBox

08/31/10 : Day 13 Check Cashed

09/07/10 : Day 20 Received Biometrics Appointment

09/22/10 : Day 35 Biometrics Schedule

09/23/10 : Day 36 AOS and EAD touched :-)

09/27/10 : Day 40 Received Transfer Notice

10/18/10 : Day 61 EAD Card Production and Travel Document approved

10/25/10 : Day 68 EAD Card Received

POE does not matter in any case

u can pick whatever u like her to have port of entry

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

That's correct. She can enter through whatever POE she chooses to go through. The important thing is to have her go through Immigration no matter where that is.

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

That should not be a problem, i was suppose to come through Newark in NJ but i came through JFK in NY. may your fiance have a safe journey!

Make sure she has a long stopover. You never know how long it may take to go through Customs and then get her Visa activated, find her gate, etc.

Agreed leave at least 3-1/2 to 4 hours layover. OR you may end up like us....waiting on next available flight, although I think Elena liked it the ticketing agent found her a FIRST CLASS seat while I got stuck in cargo... :rofl:

Call the embassy for what? They do not care where your port of entry is. Buy the cheapest tickets you can get that meet your travel needs.

US Embassy doesn't care about PoE.

But you want to make sure that your fiancee arrives in close PoE for your home.

It may take from 10 min to a couple of hours for PoE interview.

Also if you want to reduce the risk for mail-in-lost, that's another reason to pick up closest PoE.

If your fiancee comes to PoE different from USCIS local district office, which has jurisdiction based on your residence, it may take a while for forwarding the case for USCIS local district office for final processing, and it may be lost.

If it may take more expensive, it's better to buy the ticket for direct flight to closest airport from your residence.
