Thanks to my doctor's nurse, I have been RFE'd by the Missouri Service Center. In December, I asked her for an appointment for my wife to have her I-693 examination and was refused. She said I-693 appointments were no longer granted unless authorized in advance by USCIS. What I got from USCIS was an RFE.

I phoned her up and asked her if that was what she was waiting for, and she said no, she just needed the I-693 form. Apparently she has been going under the assumption that patients who bring in I-693 forms had received them in 'official letters' from USCIS. The official letters are actually RFE's.

The instructions for the I-693, which I didn't read until this morning, stated clearly that it is to be submitted with the I-485, so I blame myself too.

She also refuses to accept the downloaded form, and insists on one with carbon copies. I can see the logic of that request -- it's less work for Doctor.

Mike you are very lucky if your normal Doctor is an official listed Civil Surgeon - they are far and few between.

After the AOS denial Faith got due to the Doctor filling the I-693 form out wrong - make sure you get it to send back with the RFE and check it thoroughly.

ditto - some of the civil surgeons I called I think I would be very afraid to see for any type of medical condition
