It all sounds right to me, However why do i need to send the originals of everything I have for her to bring the interview when all these docs were forward to them by the NVC. And if you look at the State Dept website it appears the only thing you need to supply your Fiance with is the I134F. They make no mention of bringing these forms to the interview.

I beleive the guides here are a little off and quite frankly insufficient (but none the less appreciated). And I also think what some people submitt are a little overboard and not quite nesessary. My goal is to provide the powers that be with exactly what they request nothing less nothing more...its worked for me so far.

And maybe we should let the moderator (moderte) his board. Maybe I should have posted it elsewhere. Ewok feel free to move

ThX

It'll be one of the forms sent by the consulate to your fiance. It'll be in Packet 3. However, you can download the latest version and fill it out, no problem. You'll also have to attach the documents asked (bank statement, letter from employer, tax stuff). Once you get all that, you'll send it to your fiance and she'll be the one to bring those to the consulate when she has her interview. In the instructions, there's a list of the documents you'll need copies of. One of them is the I134.

Also, don't worry too much. The instructions in Packet 3 are pretty clear and straightforward.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

My goal is to provide the powers that be with exactly what they request nothing less nothing more...its worked for me so far.

Consulates do vary in what they require so the guides are exactly that, guides. What may not be necessary with one consulate, may be for another.

Also at any time, a consular officer may request to see the original of anything that was submitted as a copy to USCIS. If you submitted originals already which would of been forwarded to the consulate then they have them already.

NOTE: If the applicant or petitioner has already submitted the original document to the USCIS in connection with another matter, he or she may submit a photocopy along with an explanation of when and why the original was previously sent to the USCIS.

For all other documents, the applicant may submit a photocopy of the document required; however, he or she may be required to present the original:

in person, upon the request of a USCIS or consular official during an interview, or

by mail, in response to a written request from USCIS.

An original document submitted under these circumstances will be returned to the petitioner or applicant when no longer required.

Also keep in mind that an I-134 is only one thing that a conof may use to determine if the applicant will or wont become a public charge......hence why other documentation not mentioned as per the I-134 may be required.

Actually, there is no requirement for tax returns with the I -134 unless your self-employed. The instructions for the I - 134 state the requirements for supporting evidence under section II as follows:

The sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, AS APPROPRIATE:

A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial instituion where you have deposits, giving the following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

B. Statement of your employer on business stationery, showing:

1. Date and nature of employment;

2. Salary paid;

3. Whether the position is temporary jor premanent.

C. If self-employed:

1. copy of last income tax return filed; or

2. Report of commecial rating concern.

D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

From what I have read, it is difficult for a lot of people to get the infromation from their bank about total depostis made over the last year. Surprisingly, most bank computer systems aren't set up to do an automatic query to get this info. How hard could it be? I bank at Wells Fargo. and was able to sweet talk the young man at the branch in my supermkt (I bribed him with a grande carmel macchiato) to do a month by month search of all deposits over the past year, tally them up, and write on their more standard account verification letter.

The point is, you don't need tax returns if you have a salaried job and get a letter from your employer. To be on the safe side, I sent a copy of last years's tax return to my fiance just in case they ask for it at the interview at the embassy. The I-134 form is available on the USCIS website along and I recommend giong ahead and filing out and gathering your supporting evidence just make sure have it all ready. And it will give you something to do while waiting.

Just to reiterate my previous post.....An I-134 is only one thing that a conof may use to determine if the applicant will or wont become a public charge. The required documents as per the I-134 may not be the only documentation one will require to overcome the public charge issue (see the links in previous post). In many cases, tax returns have been required even when not self employed.

When does this arrive and from who? where do I send it ...or do I have to download and send to fiance myself?

How many years tax return? thx

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

B. Statement of your employer on business stationery, showing:

1. Date and nature of employment;

2. Salary paid;
