My mother went back to VN to pick my fiancee and son up, then they'll go together to the US. Both of them don't know much English, i am afraid they will run into some trouble at LAX airport customs. Please share your experiences, it will help my fiancee prepares for what documentation will be needed to get through, thank you

what's in the brown envelope and a packet that the officer opened at customs?

Probably the medical results/x-ray info in the sealed envelope that she got from the hospital...

The sealed envelope contains pretty much everything you've submitted up to this point - it's no mystery, you've seen it all before already..

They're asking for a sealed envelope containing the result of the medical exam. But it's no longer sealed after the interview, the CO popped it open and took the result paper out, only the xray is left inside the envelope...is this ok?

The sealed envelope is the brown one that is required by custom officer.

The sealed envelop containing result of medical exam is for Adjustment of Status, please read in guidelines for Adjustment of Status. It is ok when it is opened in VN by CO, but you need to transfer to new form, then it must be sealed by USCIS doctor before submitting for Greencard.

Where, when and how does my fiancee gets the brown one that is required by the custom officer and what's in it?

The brown envelop she will receive when she get her visa in Consulate. This one is very important, she has to save it safely when she flies to US. No broken or opened.

Remember to bring to US her medical exam (the white and yellow sheets), and x-ray (this one is not important).

the sealed envelope has the part 2 of the Ds230 so part one goes to nvc and part 2 u sign after oath in the front of the CO and that way they make sure that u r same person who apply in nvc and coming to usa after the interview. it also contains ur medical and other stuff.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

She has to fill part 2 -ds230, only item 45 is filled by CO:

The consular officer will assist you in answering item 45.

DO NOT SIGN this form until instructed to do so by the consular officer

It is noted at the end of the form as above.

First of all, on the HCM consulate website indicates that they only want the DS 230 part I for the interview, they did not mentioned part II, second there's no item 45 on part 2, you meant item 35??

my fiancee did not turn in part 2 and she passed the interview...now what i am so lost
