no brother stevie, msot are run by private hospitals..some for profit..some non profits..only the severe patients end up in state facilites..which are more long term in care

Hard to think of anything more sad than a mother so confused and ill that she kills her own baby - hard to understand how these things can happen. The lesson to be learned should be that when there are incidences of mental illness that are known to the mental health care system, the mental health care system needs to respond to such people in a meaningful way, not release them back into the open community to harm themselves and those around them. Agreed. And -knowing that I might be flamed for this, and knowing i really don't give a #######- poor woman, as well. Why? Because she will be medicated, and at one point she will realize what she did... and I would not want to be in her shoes when that happens. This is an all around tragedy.

She committed suicide after killing the baby.

ETA: Nevermind, I see she stabbed herself in the torso and slit her own throat without dying.

Well maybe if sensible weapon control (like actual mental health background checks on top of criminal background checks, etc) was in place to prevent, as best possible, lunatics from getting their hands on many kinds of deadly weapons...

Until that day comes, people can own nearly any kind of legal weapon, blade, etc under the sun if they so chose, even if their baiting was irrelevant to the topic which has nothing to do with VJ members.
