Did he get a denial paper? What does it say the reason for denial? Please post a copy of the denial or at least tell us what sections were ticked off on the sheet so we can better assist. What was he told the reason for his denial? Perhaps he's just in AP?

They said that they were returning the visa petition to the us for review for possible revocation.

They said the reasons are as follows

The relationship has been contrived for the purpose for immigration only.

That is what they gave him on a blue peice of paper.

You mentioned what the questions asked were. He answered them I correctly I presume? If so, I don't know where they would get that the relationship was not bona fide. There must be other concerns that they had. What did they say to him as far as why they didn't think the relationship was real? Please go to Waivers and AP...I believe there are threads there about what to do if your visa has been denied. You might want to jump on this right away BEFORE they send the package back to the U.S.

Here's the link to that Forum:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=113

All the best! (F)

I'm sorry to hear this sweetie.. Just remain optimistic, but do notify your congressman while the case is still in Nigeria, and try hard to get a positive resolve while it is in Nigria. God be with you

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Sorry to pry and if you dont want to answer, then dont :)

How does he know your sister? That seems like an odd question to me.

Did he know your sister first?

Sometimes consuls are super concerned/wary about being introduced by family members, but its usually the beneficiaries family member(thats already in the US) not the USC that is of concern. Just thinking out loud here.

Have you heard anything back from the congressmans office yet?

Keep us posted

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

My husband met my sister when she was in nigeria, she is married to a nigerian.

Did he know your brother in law before you met him(your husband)?

Im just thinking of the things you might want to address if you can get another interview or when the time comes that you have another chance to prove bonofides and dismiss any doubts/suspisions they might have. It's always best to know what you're up against and what to focus on. Of course they never give you hints as to what made them come to the conculsion that it wasnt a valid relationship when a visa is sent back. :(
