I used to use Qwest. The 16 cents a minute is only to a land line. If you call mobile it's 23 cents a min. I got rid of Qwest and I'm using a cheaper service. 16.5 cents to mobile, 12.4 cents to land line. No monthly fees!! No maintenence fees! Get free referral minutes by clicking the link.

Thought about Vonage. But my cell is my only phone so I don't think that works.

Even if you only have a cell it would still work.....sign up with Vonage then send the phone

adaptor to you SO so she can call you and you can call her any time and it's a local call.

For me this is a God sent. My bill was running over $1000.00 per month before Vonage.

I had the same problem for several months. Manoj and I talk for hours each day and my phone bill was literally over 1,000 which is basically the price of a roundtrip ticket to India. LOL. I found www.ppoutlet.com and it has been a life saver. I now use their prepaid calling and it has been so much easier than trying to keep up with a pin number. You can register up to three numbers that the system recognizes and you can then dial your number after hearing your balance. They also have a couple of cards that are unlimited calling meaning that they are flat rate to landline phones per call. SO say if you talked for two hours or two minutes the call would be 99 cents either way around. I've been using this service now for several months and am quite happy. If you have questions feel free to pm me.

That's great if your fiancee has broadband at home. Marlene did not. With the PinoyCalls plan, all she needed was electricity.

When Claudeth was still in the Philippines I went to my home phone service provider (Pacific Bell) and they had a special monthly rate for this. I think for $10 a month I got a rate of fifteen cents a minute. It sure dropped my bill down but was still around $300 to $400 every month but I would call her every day. We have been using www.masterbell.com now that she is here. The rate isn't too bad but sometimes these calling cards have a bit to be desired with the connections!

It's not anywhere near "like 5 cents a minute" anyway. And it's 17.5 cents to mobile.

I tried talkloop but the sound quality sucked. I think they are routing calls on VOIP.
