And maybe the reason the US is so protective of it's neighbor to the north is that it's supplying - to no small degree - our huge appetite for energy. I don't think it's the socialism we're protecting - couldn't be because their ain't no such thing to be protected in Canada.

Always a question as to whether Wisconsin borders Canada, Wisconsin claims half of Lake Superior on it's norther borders, Canada claims the rest. So that creates a border line between Wisconsin and Canada. If boating, you don't run across border check points.

If Russia even attempts to invade Canada north of us, they would be eaten alive by Canadian mosquitoes and all those trees would grab them and suck the CO2 right of them killing them in the process.
