"Easy" cases have no more likelihood of getting approved than any other case.

Our cases throughout this whole process were always simple, straight-forward and without any "issues", and they still took longer than most in some cases. And being from Canada (which is considered a low-risk country) didn't help either.

It's frustrating, but your day will come soon.

Best wishes.

Since USCIS states they don't use FIFO and that they do evaluate cases in the most "efficient" manner in an attempt to meet guidelines, What would you suggest would dictate that one file is approved ahead of others? Maybe how thick the packet was? Cover eyes and random pick?

It was stated by a former USCIS employee (posted Q&A in VJ) that they are expected to process a minimum number of files in a given time frame.... If one were expected to "produce" would one scan through a stack of files looking to meet the goal with "easy" files and then after the goal is met go back and deal with the rest.? Yes they can look at a file and see if it looks like an easy approval or not....

I dont know if I believe that though. I would assume my case would be classified as 'easy'. I see people that meet their finacee on shady dating sites and meet them in person twice and file the petition and get approved months before others. Its luck of the draw.

I agree 100%.. I see it as a ####### shoot... we rolled the dice when we sent the packet.... our number cast is the number of months we wait...

Its no secret that there are "dating sites" That are geared to setup USC's with people in certain countries with the specific intent to marry them to get citizenship in US... I don't want to get into that as it is Off topic... :ot2:

i believe it is part of the topic because it was brought up in the thread.

i met my fiance on a muslim site for marraige that was geared to finding a life partner from another country or our own but i sure would not call it shady and in fact it might offend a few people that met on sites like that

BINGO! Thank you very much! I'm glad to see that some people "get it".

I've advocated time and time again that K1 Filers send in the MINIMUM amount of required petition papers for just this reason.

If I were a USCIS paper shuffler, I would want to process thin and organized packets.

I think my packet was 27 pages and weighed less than a pound.

 Remember, you can never be "TOO RICH or TOO THIN", especially the latter when it comes to filing an immigration petition!

I'm a late March K1 filer and if I see one more person from the middle of April get approved I might jump off a bridge! First come, first serve...ya right!

The current processing time at CSC is 2-15-09. You are almost there, champ! :star:

Feb 15 is just an arbitrary date that someone came up with.. its likely an average of some type.. by no means the oldest files being worked...

I truly agree better to be concise, especially when it is an easy Consulate.. but when it is one of the high fraud ones like the one I have to deal with.. more is better.... in the long run...

Not to go too off topic, but just for the OP's (and anyone else's) understanding: from what I've read and understand, USCIS goes through each packet, and puts together their own. So as far as us trying to send in the most organized file, it gets ripped apart.

For ours...we had no idea what to do. I didn't see this site until well after we sent it. To VSC too. I had files, and pictures, and emails for the WHOLE TWO YEARS since Tim and I met. Ours was thick!!! When I started getting a clearer understanding that we could have used one trip, instead of them all....I thought "oh oh"...gonna be awhile. We got our NOA2 in 3.5 months.

I said that to say, DON"T give up hope OP. It's coming. Who knows why some are delayed. FBI name checks? Maybe they have lots "false" red flags they need to go through between the petitioner and beneficiary. Chances are, they'll tell you that it's still in name checks if you contacted them. The best thing to do, is go on with life, your job, your friends and family, because before you know it....NOA2 is here!!

To all others that have been waiting, I hope you all receive your good news soon!! And believe me, I know how hard the waiting is...

That might be true, but that is the music they are playing, and guess what? You have to dance to it.

my k1 was processed in the same week as people with similar noa1 dates. i think petitions are thrown into a box by date. when an adjudicator grabs that box, you can get excited. of course, this isn't always the case; however, it was my experience.

That's what I was think too! It seems to go in chunks (like right now with mid-april). There must be some speedy dude in there getting ahead of the other guys!
