Approved today at interview.

My appointment was at 1pm. We got there at around 12:20pm and we weren't called until 1:45pm! Good old LA.

Just asked some simple questions and reviewed the content in my package.

Looked at our photos, that's it. Didn't keep any evidence.

We didn't have any joint anything, which he was iffy about but we still made it.

Interview was 30 minutes long.

No more USCIS until February 2012 wee :D

Congrats Rhianne!! :) Glad to know you can relax a bit now....

Congrats Rhiann.

My interview was very strange. He kept asking us random questions like what kind of cars we drove and what we liked to cook. We showed him photos from last year and from our wedding. I was not told at the end if I was approved or not.

Those questions do sound strange. Probably just to make sure you're both living in the same house. I'm sure you'll hear good news soon.

Yeah, the one on 300 North Los Angeles Street.

The offices there were kind of creepy where you actually do the interview. I just didn't like how there were no walls, only giant windows for the interview offices. Did you interviewer find reasons to leave and go get some form or copy something multiple times?

Hello all, my Canadian wife and I are starting our AOS process and any help from experienced Canadians would really help!

I'm having a hard time completing form I-485

it asks "consulate where visa was issued" She is here on an F-1 student visa, we have an I-20 isued by her school and an I-94 departure record confirming her F-1 status but she never had to get an actual visa from a consulate because Canadians are visa exempt.

1)So my first question is what is the appropriate response to "consulate where visa was issued" in our case?

Her I-94 was issued at the border point of entry.

2)What is the date visa was issued? is this the date on her first I-20? or most recent I-20? or her original date of entry and issuance of I-94(same date)?

Has anyone else been through this as a student from Canada?

thanks!!

No, he only photocopied at the end.

Someone else barged in during the interview though to discuss some other case about widows and kids and stuff and how their training lacked things related to the case.

The room's door was open, so I was scared to talk too loud.

Sounds somewhat like my interview. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be approved real soon. I was approved the next day, via the website (not that I was checking incessantly or anything...).

This thread is for folks who have adjusted from fiance(e) visas, aka, gone through the process of moving for marriage. For answers regarding your case, your thread would be a better bet, or the forums pertaining to those who have adjusted from visas other than family and spousal visas.

Good luck.

I've received emails since. They were late mind you. It was almost a week after our case was transferred to CSC and we received the letter in the mail about it before we received the email..lol.. but we still got them. It's strange, it seems kind of random. Sometimes they're good with communication, sometimes not!

A little less than a week until my interview (next Monday, May 17th). I'm so nervous, lately all I can ever think about is this interview. We don't have a lot of joint things other than our bank statements and cell phone bill... but other than that, that's about it. We have friends writing us reference letters to bring, along with some photos. I hope these will be enough... it's hard to get stuff done without proper id or anything! (Oregon is tough on getting a license, ID, etc. without a green card.)
