Thanks darkchilde. I made a post about it in the AOS forum, and the reply there was basically I'm guaranteed an RFE if I don't get the 2nd shot. The difference for me is that I had the first shot before my medical in Toronto... 1 shot was fine to pass that for K-1 purposes, but since over one month has passed now, it is sufficient time for me to get the 2nd shot, so I have to get it.

VJ's list of surgeons is only a few of them (I looked at it yesterday, and the closest one on that list is a 2 hour drive away from me... no thanks!). I don't really feel comfortable with dealing with things via fax (mostly because I don't have access to a fax machine anyway).... but that's good to know that they'd do that.

So anyways, I looked on the USCIS website and that's where I found the 4 CS's in my town. One of them "seemed" to know what they were talking about, but they don't have the vaccine at their office.... apparently it's about $55 at the local clinic (i think?), but I can't get it there until Friday I think. THEN I have to go and get the I-693 signed with the CS. On the plus side, I think they can get it done the same day... All this because there was no chicken pox vaccine when I was a kid and I was 'lucky' enough to not get it. yeeeeah....

On top of everything else that's been happening, this is SERIOUSLY just more hassle that makes me want to move home. This really isn't worth it anymore to me... Sigh.

On the other hand, congrats to everyone who's moving along with their AOS. :)

Wish me luck in at least getting it sent before my I-94 expires. :( I only have 2 weeks left... And wish us luck that my husband actually gets a freaken job soon. This blows.

Oh, and wish me luck that I don't go blow up his ex-boss'es house. haha... JK...

lol... yeah....

the clinic just called me back and is saying that it's $93 for the vaccine... not $55 like I saw on the CDC website (because that apparently is only for people under age 19, even though it says adult... okaaaay...)

TimandJoyce -- do you get money transferred in an American account from Canada? Maybe thats why they approved your case. But if the money stays in Canada, I dont know how that would work as income...? Anyway I dont know enough of the topic to say anything, but Ashen, I would suggest to do an individual post about this because not everyone checks the AOS forum and they might have advice on your situation...?

I do transfer yes. Good ole Custom house, (although now it's Western Union) but USCIS didn't ask for information on whether the money was deposited here, or in Canada. They just wanted to see proof of where I was getting it from, which is funny because I sent my T4-A (p) but I guess they didn't understand it

Ashen i hope things start to look up for you. I can't even imagine the suckiness you both are going through. ((((HUGS))))

Hopefully you can get this CS thing worked out and get your AOS done before your I-94 expires. Personally, i'd send it as is..if you get an RFE you get one..Like some have said..they give you time to get it done and who knows, by then maybe your luck will have changed for the better. At least you both are together, even if you do drive each other nuts :P

lol Thanks Kimbear :) *hugs*

Today we were going to go out 'downtown' here for St. Patty's, but I wasn't feeling up to it. So we're drinking from a mini Heineken keg with green food colouring. I'm still on the fence about getting this CS business done before sending off AOS, but this has made me stop thinking about it. lol

Awww Ashen!! Sorry you're having such a hard time :(

To give you a slight glimmer of hope, I was in a similar position. When I AOS'd, the HPV vaccination was still required for women under 26. I filed for AOS and just send in the vaccination worksheet from Toronto that indicated I had only received the first shot. Even though I ultimately decided to get the second two shots for personal reasons, it was never recorded on anything I sent USCIS. Not only did I not receive an RFE for not having the I-693, they didn't issue me one for the missing vaccinations in the series AND I had an AOS interview and it never came up. I understand that HPV is in a category of its own, but its also a shot that requires more than one dose, and they didn't seem to care that I only had the first one done.

And, contrary to what people in the AOS forum may have said, an RFE is never a guarantee! RFE's are so inconsistent. It's true that there have been a lot of RFE's issued to people for not including the I-693, but there have also been a lot of people who have gotten away without it and who are still getting away with it. When I was going through the process it was the time all the RFE's for I-693 were starting to emerge and I was certain I would get an RFE for it, but I didn't. You really never know. Not sending it is a risk, but there is still a remote possibility they will let it slide. Personally, if you're low on cash and pressed for time, I think the risk is worth it. Worst case scenario- you get an RFE a few weeks or months down the road while your application is already being processed, maybe even after you get your EAD and AP. Hopefully by then you will be under less stress and in a better financial position to deal with it!

I risked the RFE, even though my measels shot isnt recorded properly on the sheet.

I just photocopied my vaccination cards and explained that I DO have the shots and that the doctor just messed up.

I havn't heard anything yet about an RFE. And I hope I never will.

Thanks Huggles!! And Rhiann! I needed those examples... lol That helps me feel a lot better :) I really did just need some mores examples to give me a glimmer of hope rather than YOU MUST DO THIS NOOOOWWWW.... so thanks for supporting what I really wanted to hear. ;) LOL An RFE for this is a risk I'm willing to take at this point... it's certainly not something worth complete denial over, and we'll have everything else in order.

On the plus side, I got my passport pics done today, (all 6! lol), and the lady only charged me for one set, instead of 3 sets, plus I got to use a coupon. So I got 6 passport pics for about $7. LOL woot!

It has a little green on the back... more like a border. But it should be called a white card, or maybe even a shiny metallic card :P

Congratulations Darkchilde. It is a nice feeling to be able to relax for a couple years doesn't it? Ugh..I really wish we didn't have to go through all that ROC business. I'll probably start looking at form beginning of next summer! I don't want to do anything with immigration until then....
