So, that was certainly no sweat today. Except for the fact that I severely overestimated how long it would take me to get there. Thankfully Starbucks helped me kill part of the hour I had extra. And I found the USCIS office (right around the corner).

I ended up going in a half hour early and found out that I could've gone in the full hour ahead of time and no one would've care. Woo.

Either way, all over with. They sure were thorough, though. Two full sets and a picture. (I hope they use this one for my green card... I guarantee it'll turn out a hundred times better than those passport photos did... )

Well, I got an e-mail today that I'll be receiving a RFE in my file :( Sadness. No idea what for, but I'm hoping nothing big! Question about RFE -- when you get one, is there another fee to pay? & do you have to submit the same I-485 package as before?

Ugh. I literally cried to my husband about getting that e-mail. It's so frustrating!

I see no reason why there would be a fee associated.. The fee you paid with the package is the processing fee, everything involved thusfar.

Congrats on the EAD approval Tina!

And congrats getting your biometrics done Sam! They used the picture they took at my bio appointment on my EAD and GC, so I'm pretty sure that is the picture they normally use.

Supreme- hopefully the RFE is for something small. Did you send in the I-693 vaccination transcription? If not then its a good possibility that's what the RFE is for, given the huge wave of RFE's that have been issued for those in the last few months. From what I understand, there is no fee involved and you don't have to resubmit the I-485. You just have a specific time frame to reply in and if you do not, they consider the application abandoned.

That would make me so happy.

Three times I tried to get my damn passport picture taken... but the machine at Walmart was either busy or broken. Of course, on the day I had kinda ran out of the house with wet, frizzy hair was the day it was working an unoccupied... so needless to say, hoping they use my Bio pictures.

No extra fees :) Don't know if you already did the medical transcription, if not then a possibility that's what it is, but wait until you actually see it. They give you a good amount of time too to send it back in.

My RFE had to do with financial things, instead of my medical being transcribed. ( I hadn't done that when I sent in the AOS ) My case was transferred after sending back the RFE, and my GC was ordered a month later.

Don't worry yet!! I'm sure it's an easy peasy RFE.. :)

Thanks everyone! It feels good to finally be able to seriously look for work. I've applied mostly to recruiting firms and told them to wait for my EAD. Now I can tell them I'm truly serious

I'm a little ways away from you all regarding AOS. Today, I'm going to the CS I contacted to complete the I-693. I am soo nervous. I keep reading these stories about them telling people they need all these extra things. I told the receptionist when I called I already had a medical & all I needed was vaccines transcribed & forms filled. Hopefully the doctor agrees, ha.
