Minnew!! Congratulations!! What a nice Christmas present.

Mine is an update to say they received our RFE evidence, and now it's back to processing. Guess I'm to hear *something* within 30 days; interview, approval another RFE, etc.

Boy....case transferred would be nice...and approval on EAD. It's been two months already....

I sure hope at the very least you get EAD approval soon Joyce!

My AP came in the mail Xmas eve, at least I could have gone home if I needed to! My GC hopefully will come soon!

I'm debating whether to re consider my claim for EI, now that everythings been approved. I guess it depends on how quickly I can find a job. I've already applied for a few and excited to apply to 1 or 2 more! I'm giving myself a month! Can you still apply for EI with a GC? Since my EAD is now void!

Anyways hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

My Christmas gift from the US government was that my green card arrived in the mail on Christmas Eve!!!!

I kind of wish that we hadn't had church plans (singing in the choir for three services Christmas Eve and then my wife playing a role in the Christmas morning service) and could have just jumped in the car...we could have been at my folks place before they woke up on Christmas. But we'll plan this right...I think we're hoping to take my wife's kids up for spring break at Easter.

I may or may not slip up for a visit on my own before then. (But I'll probably wait. It'll be nice to have company crossing the border, instead of alone in a line at the airport.) But it's nice to be able to, since I haven't seen any of the family since my mother went back home a week after the wedding.

I"d imagine you'll be ok with the GC because that's the *real* authority for residence, travel, and work, isn't it? EAD and AP lets you start early in the meantime.

I do want to work, but I'm just not sure what and where yet. A part time job though is what I'd like. I'm far to busy right now with other things for a full time job! I'm also debating on schooling for some upgrading or something. I need to contact EI about that as I know they offer incentives for upgrading and school, but I'm not sure if it applies to non residents of Canada. I did get a letter from them early on when I first applied, but it could have been one of those generic letters that everyone gets anyway. Would be nice to be able to collect or get help here in the US :star:

Great Maplestar!! I'll be staring at mine for a long time saying..." is this real? is this real?" And I can appreciate wanting to get home. I sure missed being around my family this Christmas, although I still had a great day as Tim's family is so much fun. ( And Southerners know how to eat!!....yikes...diet...here I come! )

I received an electronic case update that we have received an RFE :crying: I have a feeling that it is because of the medical. Am gonna go hunt for a doctor who wont overcharge me for vaccine transcription and if anyone knows one in the Maryland area, please let me know.

So since Ive been given an RFE (and likely will get the physical paper tomorrow or Monday) for the I-485 application, does that mean they also hold my EAD and AP application too? I am hoping to work in the spring :(

Oh such sad news for the New Year :/

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I think you're correct about that. In my case (AOS from entering as a tourist), I had neglected to have the medical before sending in my AOS. It was less than 3 weeks from the date of mailing the medical to the date I received my EAD card. (I had not applied for AP.) So if you get on top of the medical, your work in the spring should probably be safe.

My RFE had nothing to do with medical. I haven't had mine transcribed yet either. Mine was completely about our financial part. Our case is resumed once again, and hopefully my EAD will get approved soon!! I'm with you there...another income in this house would be great!

Hi everyone,

First off, Happy New Year!

Second, we're getting married next week and would like to send off our AOS/EAD/AP package soon after that. Just want to make sure that I know what to send in:

I-485 form

2 passport sized photos

copy of vaccination checklist

copy of NOA2

copy of police cert

copy of birth cert

copy of passport page with K1 Visa

G325-A

I-864

I-765 form

I-131 form

Fee of $1,010 ($930 + 80) (I assume it's this fee includes the fee for both AP and EAD?)

And I assume I send this all to:

USCIS

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago IL 60680-4120

If I'm missing anything, can someone correct me please? Many thanks!!

Tina

I think you have to include the tax transcrips + the W2 for your USC fiance's most recent tax year.

I believe it said it in the support paperwork instructions.

You need 6 passport photos- 2 for every form

You also need to include evidence of your fiances citizenship as per the I-864 guidelines. This could be a photocopy of his passport bio page, his US birth certificate, or a certificate of naturalization. You also need at least your most recent year of tax transcripts and W-2's. You should also strongly consider sending a letter from your fiances employer and recent pay stubs. It lays everything out really well in the I-864 instructions if you haven't looked over it yet

Copy of your I-94 front and back

No need to send in a copy of your police certificate, they will have the original on file

I assume you've read up on the vaccination worksheet vs. getting your info transcribed on the I-693 and the danger of getting an RFE without sending in the transcribed form. Lately, there have been many more RFE's issued for this.

And the most important thing, a copy of your marriage license!

$1010 is correct and its for everything, and that is the correct address.

I'm not sure why we would need to send in the I-693 (is that what they mean by the vaccination supplement)? The medical that we got from Toronto is good for a year, so I assumed that we would use that. Thanks.

My guess is that I just bring my vaccination info and chest X-Ray results to the civil surgeon in my area and get him/her to fill out the I-693? Thanks!
