I'm back! And with an approval!! :dancing:

The whole thing was super easy. The IO just asked us really, really basic questions like "what is your wife's name" and "what is her birthday" He actually asked Bill a lot more than he asked me. He just went through the I-485 and checked to see if the answers matched up, then he went through that long checklist and asked me those "have you ever been a member of the communist party?" type questions. He took the I-94 out of my passport, put a big line through the K-1 and wrote "AOS" on it, and didn't even ask for the EAD or my AP. He didn't even ask for the I-693! All that work for nothing. I'll write a longer review in a little bit. It was actually easier than Montreal.

Thanks guys!

When I got there the room was packed, I thought I was going to be stuck there for hours. But then they called my name like 10 minute later, skipping all the people in front of me? Not sure how they order people. Denver USCIS has an entire building to itself is and it looks to be pretty new... and the office we were interviewing in had such a beautiful view of the mountains, wow. That guy is lucky! And we got a foot of snow over the weekend so everything was all snow covered and shiny. A little distracting when you're trying to answer serious questions

For the I-693 he just asked me if I redid my immigration medical. I said no since I came on a K-1 and had my foreign medical within the last year so it was still valid. He just nodded and looked for my medical information in my package in front of him. He just looked it over really quick and changed the subject! I wasn't going to bring the I-693 up if he didn't want it, especially with my previous concerns that using Dr. Arnold would be a problem. I was actually surprised he had everything in front of him... my old I-129F, the paperwork from montreal, all the medical documents, and my AOS paperwork, all in one package. Nice to see USCIS is at least organized when it comes to keeping our stuff in order.

Everyone was really nice! When I get more time I'll go into more detail. He did take my relationship evidence, but didn't really look at it much, he just stuck it in the folder.

Congrats Huggles! So happy for ya :)

thanks pop! :)

The conclusion I drew from the interview is that they aren't really used to Canadians, or at least the IO didn't seem to be that familiar with Canada. He was looking through my passport for a couple seconds and then looked at me and said, have you ever been to the US before you moved? I think he was looking for passport stamps and got confused when he didn't see any. I explained that I lived near the border and would drive over quite frequently. Then he asked me the longest amount of time I've spend in the US as a visitor (looking for overstays I guess?) After telling him Bill and I met on a NASCAR fan site he gave me a weird look and said, "there are NASCAR fans in Canada?" But he was actually amused by that and said it was pretty unusual for him to hear.

The whole interview was him asking really simple questions. I offered him the certified copy of our marriage certificate and he didn't want it. He didn't ask for Bill's birth certificate or passport, the I-693 or really anything aside from my I-94. He asked at the end of the interview if we had a joint bank account or anything to show, and I handed him the little stack of papers I had with our relationship evidence. He glanced through it, said good and thanks, and then added it to our file. I had a bunch of pictures as well, but he didn't ask for them, so I never brought it up.

The best part of the interview was when the IO asked my husband if he trusts me? He said of course. Then he looked at me and said, good, I don't want to grant you this green card and then hear you ran off to Florida or something in a year or so. I was like, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here, I love Canada. He didn't know what to say to that! He then explained why he is usually hesitant in granting green cards because of the marriage fraud problems, but that he could tell our marriage is "valid." He then asked Bill if he wanted to continue supporting my application and he said yes. Then he explained the conditions of the 2 year green card, what I had to do for ROC, and said he would put the approval in the system today and I should get my card anywhere from 10 days from now til 3 weeks. But, I'm still waiting for the card production e-mail... if I even get it.

So basically, I think we got a stickler but he didn't really have a reason to question our marriage or deny me. He seemed rather serious at first but he got pretty light as the interview went on. He was a very nice, pleasant person to work with! So thanks Benjamin :P

Approved!!!!

The interview officer barely asked us any questions. Mostly just went over the I-485 that we originally submitted, then a series of questions about known associations etc. Ten minutes and we were out. No more USCIS for 1 more years

Congrats to you and Mel!! :)

Did they ask for the I-693 or did you throw it at them? :P

About half way through the interview, he hadn't taken it, so I moved it out from my folder onto the desk. About 2 minutes later, I said "Sooooooo, you want the I-693?". He did in fact want it and said that it was required.
