Okay, so I totally jumped the gun on the reason for me receiving an RFE. Because it says this:

'For the household member's income to be included in the household income, the household membeer's income must have been from a lawful source and earned while the household member was authorized to work in the United States'

And then asks to submit blah blah blah to prove work authorization. Which is a piece of cake so over the weekend I'll copy the birth certificate proving US citizenship and ship it off. But do you think I should redo the I-864 or just provide the birth certificate?

lol I'm just happy its an easy fix and doesn't require a trip to the civil surgeon...yet.

Sapphire- are you outside of CSC's processing times yet? I think if you fall outside of the regular processing times you can inquire. But if you aren't worried about it then just wait it out for a bit. If you're being touched then they haven't completely forgot about you and haven't lose your case, so that's encouraging.

Beans- That sounds like a strange RFE... Did you include prof of his US citizenship with your application?

^^ I think I am, I honestly can't find an update for the CSC I-485 transfers.

I actually don't need my greencard... but would love to have it at Xmas so I don't have to AP again and go through secondary...

I guess I'll just hang tight.

Good news about the RFE Beans. If you get transferred after the RFE, you're probably in the clear for the I-693.

Now i can sleep well for two years

The card is not even green and there is a huge scanning electronic sheet something on the back.

There is a mini envelop to put the card in to protect it. Fancy.

Hang tight sapphire, im sure it will come before xmas. You still have two months to go!

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status Employment-based adjustment applications 4 Months

Your aren't adjusting from an employment based visa, so I'm not sure if the 4 months applies to all AOS applications or not.

Oh wow. Of course I've never been authorized to work in the States, (yet) but we did put down a source of income for me as I get a monthly survivor's benefit and will continue to do so until the day I die. It's Canadian, of course, but we added my tax return from last year so that they could see how much it was. I wonder if it will be accepted? I suppose if not, they'll recalculate the household income?

I did get my notice for biometrics. November 23. Talk about cutting it close, we're going away for two weeks, and should be home by the 21st. Well, now we WILL be home by then. We'll need to be in Charleston on Monday for 11:00 a.m. I signed up to receive emails, but I didn't get one, just the letter in the mail today.

Yay! Congrats joyce! I also got my bio Letter today too! I never got an email!! It was dated nov 3rd which was the day of my last touch! But also the date that I could view the cases online!!

My bio appt is nov 19th! @ 1 pm!

One week til our interview! I'm not really nervous about it, at least not yet. Next Sunday? Probably

I know you need to bring photo ID to the interview, but it suggests bringing a state issued drivers license/ID card. Unfortunately I haven't been successful in getting a DL, and how I've tried (complicated situation, no fun..) Anyways, would my Canadian passport be good enough? Or even the EAD? I imagine so, since some states don't let you get a license without a Green Card, just wanted some reassurance.

EAD might work. i know its a valid ID at the SSN office (was there yesterday, thats why )

Seriously between the interview in montreal for k1 and they interview for AOS, AOS is much easier!!!!! You know you've done things right and have your proofs. they just want to check out whats going on since you entered.

We got the same instructions about ID at the biometrics appointment. Mel used her Onatrio DL and passport. We are in a similar boat about the state ID. However, our situation is because we did not get married right away when she first entered and the state wouldn't issue a DL if the Visa was to expire before the standard processing time (4-6 weeks).

On another note, I have to say that Dr. Ostriker's office is pretty great so far about the I-693. We're going to go pick it up tomorrow. Only cost $25, i'll need to ask them tomorrow if they would consider doing it by fax/mail.
