Got Mel's social security card yesterday in the mail. I looked at it and it is printed "For work puproses only". What is that supposed to mean? Is that a denotation that she is at this current time ineligible for social security benefits?

Oh well, Interview in 2 weeks, need to start getting together all our documentation from the AoS package.

Do you mean "Valid for work with DHS Authorization"? Or something to that effect?

That's what mine says. Just means we need to show the EAD in order to be eligible to work.

That's normal, when she gets her green card (Not EAD, it must be green card) you go back to SSN office and show them GC. They will then mail her a new card with nothing written on it like that

My NOA1's for the 485 and 765 also have numbers in the ASC code box, the 485 has the # 3 and the 765 has the code 2. What's that about??

Got my NOA1's today!! The notice date is October 29th!! That was fast!! Received date October 23rd!! Case won't show up online yet though!

Mine had the notice date of October 29th too!! Maybe we'll get our GC at the same time...wouldn't that be cool?? I sent mine in Oct. 25th.

I also have those same codes and on the same NOA. AOS has code 3 and EAD has code 2. I also have instruction to bring the EAD to Biometrics but not the AP...

*think I'll just bring it anyway*

I got so excited when I saw all those NOA's. At least I know things are moving along now. Hopefully we can track it soon. We're going to head to Mississippi on Nov. 8th, and be gone for about two weeks. I'm really hoping my biometrics isn't in that time frame...

Congrats Joyce!! We have the same notice date!! I tried to view my cases online thinking I wouldn't be able to for another week.....and they were available to view!! Last updated date Nov 3rd!! Woot! That was quick!!

Most of the bio's for the October filers weren't issued until about 2-3 weeks after the NOA's, so I would think you would be fine. You might come home to a bio appt letter though! I hope someone you trust will be checking the mail for you?

Thanks Minnew! We'll have the mail stopped for the time we're away, and if we don't get back in time when it resumes, Tim's best friend can bring it in the house for us. I sure hope I have that letter then! How weird to be excited about my AOS...

I was never touched! The last update on my case is the day they produced my bio letter. I have an interview in a little over a week and it still says I haven't been touched since the last week of August. How reliable! Yeesh.

Well, I finally got around to registering on USCIS, and if I did everything right, I'll get emails to let me know what's happening and such. I'll be taking my laptop when we travel, so I hope to read that they sent out the biometrics letter. With luck it will be in the second week we're gone, so then we won't have to feel too rushed to make plans to go.

I would imaging it's in Charleston, it was the only one listed for SC. It's a sacrifice to have to go there...lol. Wonder if I can talk Tim into staying the night. lol.
