Congratulations chadlure!

My check cashed yesterday! Didn't show up in my account until today! MSC case # on the back, but uscis website has no record of it. How long does it take for your case to show up? Hoping the mailman brings me my NOA1's today!!

basically whenever they feel like put it in into the system haha remember mine was a few weeks before they actually put it in! hope yours is sooner on the system then that tho.

I'm in Canada for Halloween weekend....brought my son to be with his cousins :)

I'm gonna be using my GC for the first time when I leave this trip....interesting to see if treatment changes....

I do find it interesting that both times I have crossed into canada, the Canadian CPB has asked what my status in the US is...and on what documents do I intend to re-enter the US....it's interesting that they 1) try to ensure you are residing in the US legally, and 2) that I have proper documents to get back in. They have asked me this both times. I find that kind of nice and courteous... kind of like they don't want you to get locked out....lol...

So far, during my entire courtship and Visa/GC process....CPB has been great...even when I had a 3 hour drama trying to activate my Visa and almost had to pay duties on my car (i'll let that slide lol) I do have to say that I have nothing bad to say about Customs and Homeland Security..

Watch now that I praise them...the next time I cross I get a full interrogation and cavity search...HAHAHAHAHA!

Talking about international travel....

For Xmas, Chad and I are going to go to Florida and France.

I changed my name, I took his name now so the GC will be under the married name but my passport is still under my maiden name.

Which last name should i use to book the flight tickets?

Obviously to travel to FL i could use my married name, but to go to france, im going to need my passport and that should be booked under my maiden name.

I know that if you have a copy of the wedding certificate, that could justify the change of names but which name do you use when booking international plane tickets?

I am pretty sure that for international travel the name on the ticket has to match exactly the name on the passport.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Personally, I would book both flights in my maiden name and use my passport as identification. They recently cracked down on name discrepancies on airline tickets, and now your name needs to match the name you present on ID exactly. When I travel domestically, I book the ticket in my maiden name and use my passport as ID, I find it easier that way.

Technically you could book your travel to FL in your married name, sure, but you'd need to book the international flight in your maiden name, since its the name in your passport. If you are purchasing both flights together, or have them on the same itinerary, they would both need to be in your maiden name.

Book the tickets you need a passport for in your maiden name and then your domestic travel in your married name if you have US driver's license with your married name.

When I went back to Canada, I used my maiden name and had no problem with my AP in my married name and my tickets/passport in my maiden name. I've been travelling for work domestically and just using my married name and showing my NYS DL as my ID and I've been fine.

That is what I did, I booked everythin under maiden name (passport name) because we booked everything under one reservation.

We'll be doing Michigan to FLorida to France and back to Michigan so even the domestic travel will be under maiden name.

I wont be able to use my DL with married name yet. good thing they ask for it at bars all the time so i can use it :)
