just adding to the conversation that we sent only a photocopy of our marriage certificate for the AOS. We were eventually approved without any RFEs or an interview.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I didn't send in a certified copy of my marriage certificate, just a regular copy. Although my AP and EAD were approved and I never received an RFE, I do have an interview coming up, so I suppose that may be part of the reason why. However, I really doubt it. The I-485 states "copy" not "certified copy." There have been people approved without sending a certified copy and without having an interview as well. But... they want you to bring a certified copy to the interview if you get one, as its on the list of requested documents, so who the heck knows.

I called Dr. Arnold today and decided to go with them for the I-693 transcription. I called the office and left my information and the lady who does the immigration stuff called me back within 10 minutes. It's only $30 and they pay the cost of sending it back to you. Since I have 3.5 weeks til my interview still, I think its the best option. I'm sick of calling confused civil surgeon offices in the area. I give up!

You are SOOOOOO lucky! She never called Duncan back and it took her 4 days to call me back, and that's after I called after waiting 3 days! Congrats on the cheap way out... compared to what we paid!

After reading what you wrote earlier in the month I was a little concerned! I thought she may not call back, or not call back for a couple days. I'll feel lucky when Its done and in my hand! Until then I am cautiously optimistic... Not like I think she'll rip me off, I've just learned in all of this that nothing is easy and nothing is a guarantee! Immigration: jading me for 1 year and counting :P

*whew* we got to the Post Office with just a few minutes to spare, but we mailed our application to Chicago!!! And you're right Minnew...it's a HUGE weight off my shoulders. So now I can concentrate on organizing this house better. There is so much to be done. Tim has lived alone for a very long time

*crossing fingers that everything was filled out right, and it gets transferred to CSC*..

I got to the Post Office about 4:30...never doing that again.... long line!!

Delivered at 2:10pm today!! Signed up for email alerts via USPS....never got ONE!!

We just got a new puppy early this week and there is lots of wedding stuff still to be put away and organized....guess I will have lots of time! :P I'm exhausted!

I hope we get transferred to CSC! But I am really doubting the possibility given the local office stats and our situation. :(

Great!! Ours is still, (at this time) in limbo..

What did you use for the email alerts? I was assuming we'd get a case # on the back of the cheque like last time.

I hope everything goes smooth for you. I have no idea about local office stats, (or where to look) but I won't be surprised to have an interview. It would probably be over the financial part, or they may RFE for more banking evidence. I included the sale of my house, (from the lawyers papers) and my account balance. My guess is that they'll want to talk with us a little more on that...

Have fun with that puppy!! What kind did you get? I'd love to get a little Yorkie, but we're not ready yet.

Hello Everyone,

We are filling out the AOS forms and were wondering what the differences between A# & I-94 # are? Are they the same?

Thank you.

Nope they arent the same number, your A# is your alien number which is on your NOA2 or sometimes on your VISA.

Your I-94 number is on your I-94 in big numbers, it should be stapled to your passport and is called "departure number "

Thank you very much!

We are now filling our the I-131 and are not certain what the "Class of Admission" in part 1 refers to. Can someone please advise?

Thank you.

Well, I could probably be wrong, but I just put K-1 on mine, as that is the status that I was when I entered the States. ( Or whatever status someone is I guess)

I'm hoping that if I made *tiny* errors here and there, that it's not going to be major and can be easily corrected or interrupted the right way at there level. Worse case scenario, they send it back with an RFE.....
