I'm home!

We got to the building at 8:35 for our 9am interview. Went through security and went to the third floor.

Put our letter in the box and then went inside and sat down and waited.

I was honestly surprised how casual people were dressed!! I saw lots with lawyers.

Around 9:10am a man name Jim called us. He introduced himself and told us to follow him through the maze of hallways.

As we walked, he said he appreciated that we had taken the time to dress up a bit. He said people don't really take the interview

serious sometimes.

Finally we got to his office, he swore us in and we sat down. He said he was going to go over a couple things with us. He asked

my husband for his ID, social number, address. Then asked were we met, when we got married, and if he had any children.

He turned to me, asked for my passport and social number. I still haven't remembered my number yet so I had to get my card out and read it.

He asked me all the questions on the AOS page 3(i think it's page 3). checking everything with a red pen. He asked us for letters from our jobs so I handed those over as well as a letter from our bank stating we have join ownership in our bank account.

He asked us if we had a lease, but I explained that we weren't able to add me to it until it expires, which isn't until the 30th of this month. We showed

him a copy of that lease. He flipped through a scrapbook I made and then looked through the back part of the file.

Finally he said he was going to approve our application!!!

He didn't ask for my EAD or even explain about applying for removing of conditions. He just told me I would get my card in 2 weeks!

I asked him for a stamp, which he gladly gave me and sent us on our way! I couldn't believe how easy it was!

I just got the email saying my card was ordered - I can't wait to have it in my hands!!!

Good Luck to everyone! I'm sticking around this topic to cheer you guys on!

They asked for your husband (USC) social security card?

Guess i'll have to dig to find mine.

I think just the number, not the actual card...

Congrats Starburst! That sounded pretty easy and straightforward!!

Congrats on getting the interview Laure! It might be scary, but I bet you'll feel great when everything is done and you don't have to worry about USCIS for a couple years!

Congrats on the approval Starburst! Random question: Did you submit an I-693 with your AOS application or did you just give them the vaccination worksheet? I've just been hearing stories from a lot of people who didn't submit the I-693 and were asked for it at the interview.

CONGRATSSTAR!!!

Huggles....yes Star did do the I-693...if you click the link on the bottom of their signature for 'july filers' it is the spread sheet for all July filers and under Star's stats it says they did complete it.

I wonder how all of us CSC transfers will play out! I mean, we do get to avoid the interview, but it is more of a delay....I was thinking of getting an approval in early Oct, but at this rate, looks more like Nov lol....

and to top it off, I got my new SSN card today and it still says 'Not Auth for Work without DHS approval' on it...I thought that's why we go with our EAD to get it removed...I swear, nothing comes easy to me lol...

Thanks! For some reason that link doesn't work for me... it wants me to sign in? But you told me what I need to know! I'm just trying to avoid getting the I-693 done, and thus getting the last HPV shot done, but I should probably accept the fact they'll want it at some point and start preparing myself for it.

As far as the SSN thing goes, everyone keeps telling me they won't remove it until you have your GC... to which I replied, "but Poprocks went and got hers removed!" So... I guess you did not... making me wrong :P

lol...ur right...I did get a lot done when I went in, most importantly my son's SSN....so I guess I have one more trip when my GC comes it :)

that's weird...the spreadsheet doesn't work?

I too am holding out on doing the I-693...if we get an RFE...it doesn't take long to get it...I figure i've gone this far....i'll just wait for that RFE email before I start shaking my tail lol

Good job Starbust that is awesome!!

I'm off to get my 3rd shot of gardisil. I know we're supposed to only start the process but since we have our interview in a month and if they ask to see the proof that i got the 3 shots, then i will be able to show them :)

Also, we moved out a months ago so i changed our address thru USCIS and it worked.

However for the proofs, half of our stuff we owe together are still to the former address (which is his brothers house, in the same city)

Like the car title and DL are still on our first address but the new lease, bank account, different insurances, phone bill are on the new one.

Does it matter since we both each time listed on the papers?

Yeah you're supposed to notify Social Security of your immigration status regardless of the clause on the card. So even when you become a citizen, you're supposed to go to the office and tell them.

I'm still waiting for my GC to be approved, but I never did the I-693. I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless you get an interview Huggles.
