EAD and AP approved!! :)

Congrats!! :star:

I have my bio appointment tomorrow. So, what exactly happens? You just get fingerprinted?

Yup, you wait to be called and then they spray water all over your hands and then scan every finger about 3 or 4 times. Then they take your picture. It's pretty easy. Bring your marriage certificate and SSN. The finger printing was pretty cool actually. They let you see the screen!

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

Thanks! I never would have thought to bring the marriage certificate. Sounds easy enough!

I just brought my passport and bio letter as they requested on the letter

The screen for the fingersprints is pretty awesome, the prints are huge, like in the movies, it's pretty cool

They do take it a few times, rolling your fingers on the printing screen, then take your picture (again) and that is it.

THe lady told me it was the picture that will be on the GC. I thought it was the picture we sent in the AOS package.

I don't even know how many pictures they have of me now with all the ones we sent them, the ones taking at the airport each time and the one at the fingerprints but they must have a lot ;)

Good luck for today

Good to know! I'll try not to look dead in the picture eventhough I didn't sleep a wink last night  I brought my marriage certificate, SSN, passport, NOA's and the interview letter just to be safe. Anything else I might need? They probably won't need most of that but the last thing I want to do is have to go back later.

Its actually rather annoying where they put USCIS Denver. Its in Aurora, which is about an hour from here! I figured it would be downtown, that would be easier and make more sense.

I think the people who take the DL photos here in L.A. are saddistic. They have this acute ability to take the pic when you look the absolute worst. My last 3 have been of me looking at something in the corner.

So which picture is on the EAD? The fingerprint one or the one you sent in the AOS package?

 Sorry Chadlaure!

The picture on the EAD is the one from biometrics, the same one on your GC! I have no idea why you have to send so many photos for AOS, they only use one for your AP

Quick question for those of you who have received your EAD and had to send the information to Canada for unemployment compensation.

Did you have to send it to anyone in particular? My husband has been completing the cards he has been getting but they are not to anyone in particular. Plus do they back date the money from when he stopped working or does the money start from when he was approved for the EAD? Just curious, thanks for any info :)

No one in particular, I just faxed a copy of the EAD to "out of country claims" at the fax number I was provided.... They only pay you from the date you received the EAD, they don't back pay unfortunately. They used to pay before EAD was received, but it's since changed

Good luck Starburst!! :)

I just got back from my bio appointment, it literally took 15 minutes. And you were right, the fingerprinting is neat! I felt so CSI.

Thanks for the marriage license tip Sapphire! They wanted to see it since the name on my appointment letter and the one on my passport are different due to the marriage.
