OK and another question. :-P Looking at the I-485 and it asks for place of last entry into the U.S. Since he will be processed at the airport in Ottawa, do I put Ottawa (which is not the U.S. but it was I guess his entry?) or the next stop on our itinerary (which is Newark, New Jersey, but he won't be doing customs there, only in Ottawa). This is kind of confusing. Does anyone know?

I believe we answered it as in the LAST he entered... as in the last time he visited the USA. If I remember right, that's how we answered that lovely asked question for the bazillionth time. lol

Event Date

The answer for 'date/port' of last entry is not his last 'visit' but the actual entry of which you activate your K1/K3. So whatever day he enters to activate his visa will be date of 'last entry' and not any prior visits he had as just a 'visitor'.

As for the 'port of entry' I am not too sure on whether you would put Ottawa or Newark. My guess is Newark, as this is the official US entry point, it just happens that their customs clearance is in a Canadian City.

I'm sure others will chime in on that one.

Thanks for the answers. However, he has never been to the U.S. so the "when" doesn't matter. ;-) Just wondering if I put Ottawa or New Jersey since he will actually activate the visa at customs in Ottawa at the airport.
