aww **...that sucks...i cannot believe how much wasted time this takes just to get a freaking RFE..what the hell is wrong with these ppl? RFE should be done within the first month of them getting our packet. Jerkoffs...

i hope it's not for the medical. although i did the same as you , just send a copy of the vaccination record and quoted their own dumb website stating i did not need a new medical..GRRRR can't even train their own employees better. ya know any other company in the world would not get buy with this shoddy setup. /sigh

I did pretty much the same thing, except I was never given a copy of the DS3025, so I had to contact the Dr's office to find out if it was included in the package they prepared, and I was told it was. I just sent in the same quote about not needing vaccinations transcribed. I hope I don't get an RFE for it since none of the CS's around here will just transcribe the vaccinations....they all want to do another full medical. *fingers crossed*

I also would have hoped that in 5 months they could have at least gone through the packages to ensure everything that was required was included. I am not so worried about needing my greencard, Ihave my EAD and my mat leave has started, so that has taken a HUGE stress off financially, but the clock for naturalization starts ticking from the time the CG was issued, so it makes a difference for that :(

Well maybe the RFE was for something else. I'll let you guys know since we all treated the I-693 in the same manner. I called a Civil Surgeon in my area prior to sending in my packet, and was told that we would have to repeat the entire medical and pay the fee, so that is why I took a chance at mailing it off without it. If it is the medical, I am going to complain to someone that their own policies are not being followed and it is costing us extra time, money and frustration.

I am reading some posts over in the AOS forum to try and figure out what my RFE could possibly be for.

Was I supposed to submit proof of a bonafide relationship with the AOS packet (joint accounts, property, insurance, etc)? I thought that came later in the process. I didn't see it anywhere in the guides when I submitted the original packet.

That needs to be updated. Dr. Arnold retired last year. I used him to have my I-693 transcribed for our interview in November of 2009 (which I never ended up needing) and he retired shortly after. The rumor is that he got in trouble for doing the paperwork through mail without meeting the client and validating their identity.

I am reading some posts over in the AOS forum to try and figure out what my RFE could possibly be for.

No, you're fine there. It really could be for anything. I think it was Kayla and Matthew who recently received an RFE for the I-864... which they included in the packet with proper evidence. Someone just didn't see it or misplaced it.

I'm thinking this may be the doctor that isn't practicing anymore. I know I remember reading about one that pretty much everyone used because of how well they worked with people, but they retired.

As for the proof of a bonafide relationship, we didn't send any. We just sent a copy of our drivers licenses showing that we have the same address. I was under the impression that all of that stuff would come if we had an interview and later on.

Well, guess I was right in thinking he wasn't practicing anymore! :)

Yeah, we got that stupid stupid stupid RFE for that. They RFE'd us for everything that was bundled right together so I know they lost it or something. It was a good thing I made copies because that could have been a really frustrating situation, even more than it already was. I wouldn't think it would be for your medical since we got by with just the vaccination sheet, but I guess what goes for some of those officers wont go for all.

At least we know that for whatever it is it's their fault. You don't have to have another medical and from the looks of that picture of your packet you included everything you needed.

Or maybe they're just not fans of the highlighter and tabs, lol. Maybe as a kid they were tortured by school children wielding highlighters!

I got an update on my AOS today, just saying that it has been transfered to a USCIS office, so I am not sure what that means. I think that usually if you are going to have an interview they will specify that the case has been transfered to a specific office. And since an interview was supposed to be waived due to me no longer being able to travel (and the fact having a baby is pretty solid evidence of a bona fide marriage!!) I have no clue why it would be transfered.

Got my EAD in the mail yesterday and I've had my AP for 2 weeks. I really hope my GC is on the way soon. I just want all this to be over with, and mostly so I can get my DL before the weather gets terrible here and so I can get a few other things taken care of.

Had our interview back on the 26th of October...approved (AOS). Letter came on the 1st of Nov saying Green Card being printed. Hoping we get it this coming week. All in all, from K1 to now wasn't an awful experience. No RFEs throughout the whole process. No real issues at all that I can think of. Guess we were lucky as well as prepared.

Now Social Security has been a different story....anyway, I thank all the people on the forum for their information and stories. Helped us out a great deal. Couldn't have done it without the forum.

Sean went for his *second* medical today ($120 for the medical). They made him get a tetanus shot- $35, another MMR shot- $85, and one other shot that he didn't remember the name of and he didn't get charged for. They also are making him go to a lab for blood work (tomorrow- he has to fast for 8 hours prior), and he was told to get "proof" from his doctor in Canada that he had chicken pox. Sean had to go to the health department and wait for hours for the MMR shot. The civil surgeon didn't have it, and I called my doctor's office but they didn't have it either.

Sean is upset because he feels like he already did this in Canada, and he thinks they are making him get shots that he doesn't need/already had/etc. He spoke to his doctor in Canada, and was told that in Canada they only require 1 MMR shot, but in the US they require 2. The doctor faxed him a history that noted when Sean had the chicken pox.

On Thursday he goes back to the civil surgeon with the blood tests results (what he is being tested for I have no idea) and to finalize the forms.

I hope to mail it out soon.

It's awesome to hear that a few people that applied for AOS at roundabout the same time I did are getting their GC's. Hope mine comes soon. :(

Anyways, my husband and I are thinking about going and getting me a driver's license just so I have a piece of state ID, but he's worried that I'll have to do the whole deal - written exam and a driving exam.

For those that have theirs already, what process did you have to go through? *I know this will vary from state to state, I'm just curious. :)
