Well, it's officially been a week since they received my RFE response, and no updates. No touches on my AOS case since the 6th, when I expect they updated the website. So much for them being 'quick' on this one. Not that a week is a long time, but ya know.. that whole thing of seeing other people get faster responses. Sigh.

Just got the email that our case under RFE response review. Now hopefully they wont need anything else.

But knowing my luck they'll have lost his medical, too and we'll get another RFE for that. I hope not, but with as many medicals as they've been losing lately for Canadians I'm expecting it.

ashen, it sucks so bad that it seems like they are continually screwing you over. :(

Thanks Kayla. I hope they work on your case quickly!

Other people have had worse things happen with their cases than what's happened to me. I've just had several small-mediumish things, and one big thing (the hubby losing his job). I'm just getting sick of it. And I'm in a super grumpy mood today, so should probably not even post on VJ at all. lol

But you know a lot of small-mediumish things are just as bad as one big thing. I hate hate hate having any kind of road block so I tend to get super grumpy when things don't go like I planned. So I guess that means I've been grumpy for about a year now, lol.

Aww-Ashen...I don't blame you for coming here-who/where else can you *specifically* vent, right? You did the very best you could do and/or is in your control! That said, seeing as how you're in a SoCo, a nice taco and margarita somewhere ought to lift your spirits :)

Walk in biometrics successful in Grand Rapids, MI. It took 30 minutes because one of the technicians took a break just when we finished filling out the paperwork. We took a chance driving 1.5 hours but I told my husband we would go school clothes shopping if we were denied a walk in appointment. Now to celebrate with a Chinese food lunch.

It's not a matter of worse things happening, i can deal with one very bad thing..however dealing with multiple things like you have gone through, is the worst in my opinion. It's like you never get a break, you can't breathe for fear of the "whats next" question. Kinda like when i went though my K1. I swear i did more work, phone calls and fixing than anyone and i was always waiting for the other shoe to drop or the proverbial 3rd bad thing..as all things happen in three's..right?

My husband received his biometrics letter yesterday and we took a chance that the ASC would let us do a walk in. The original appointment was for Friday September 3 but I would have been back teaching school and my husband didn't want to get lost driving himself. Now more waiting with no specific tasks.

WOW....that was fast....congrats!! I sent my AOS in at the end of May. It is coming up 3 months now and I still haven't recieved an appointment letter. I am starting to get really p#*@ed off!!! We are starting to get quite stressed financially, and now that I am almost 6 months pregnant I really have no hope in hell of getting a job, so we could really use at least the money I would get from EI. I have had to take a big chunk out of our retirement savings to help pay the bills, and we are just about to the end of that. And with a baby on the way and all the things we need to get for her. It is not like I will be able to count on any shower gifts to help us out. Most of my "friends" from canada haven't even sent me an e-mail congratulating me, I have no friends here, all my family is back in Canada, and hubby's family keeps asking us to help them out financially. The whole processing time is supposed to be 3 months....at this rate I will be lucky to have mine by the 5 month point.....FRIG!!

I just stumbled across this whilst cleaning out a folder from work. I made this a couple years ago as a joke @ my former job..

I thought I'd post it here--it definitely seems fitting what with the shenanigans I've been seeing fellow Canadians go through thanks to USCIS.

I know I can't wait for Mathew to have his EAD. The wedding pretty much wiped us out. Add to that that I've got a 300 car payment every month, car insurance, and $220 health insurance to pay for we're screwed with only one of us working. Oh, yeah, and I'm only PART TIME. He has some savings from when he was working in Canada but we've pretty much blown through that. :( At least we still live with my mom until he can get a job. I'd hate to have to pay rent on top of all of that. We'd probably be living out of a card board box.

I know he'll make great money once he's got his EAD, but knowing that doesn't help our situation right now.

Booh! Hurry up EADs! We all need them quickly!

Ah, Kayla! What a ridiculous RFE! I've seen things like this in the AOS forum where the couple got their congressman involved and the RFE was taken back. But you probably did the best thing in preventing a long delay. It's easier to just give them what they want... again!

Ashen, any touches yet? Try not to be to concerned if they don't update your case online. They "touched" my case when they sent out my bio letter, and then nothing until I got the approval notice a day after my interview.

Colleens, you've been waiting 3 months for a bio letter?! Wow. That's crazy. And you're already 6 months pregnant! Time flies!

Missa, good luck!! It's easier than you think it will be :)

We called USCIS and logged a service request for my biometrics, even the girl on the phone was pretty surprised that we had been waiting so long. She said that it can take up to 30 days to get a response, but sometimes you will get an e-mail from the local office within a few days. So hopefully I hear something early next week. Even if my appt isn't for another month or so, I would just like to know when. I want to go home before I can no longer fly so it would be nice to be able to have a time frame so that I can start searching for flight deals!!!

It seems like time is going by so slowly for the pregnancy, I guess because I am home all the time doing nothing. But we have started buying stuff and getting things ready, so I am sure that will make the time go by a lot quicker!!
