As people here always say every case is different and unique. My petitions were completed and approved in February 25, 2009,and I received packet 3 in March 12, and sent it back in April 26, and my interview was scheduled in May 14, 2009 in the Jerusalem Consulate, Put in consideration that I am applying for K-3 one. You can check my timeline for more clarification.

Hi, thank you for the response but actually the NVC told me they will not forward my case to the Jerusalem consulate until they (the NVC) schedule me an appointment....

whats the difference between a k3 and cr1 ...?

The difference(in getting an interview) is that, NVC gets the approved k3 and forwards it to the consulate for scheduling. Usually consuls schedule K visa interviews about a month out.

CR1's can take 60-90 days for an interview date and NVC holds the file until then.

What you're going through is perfectly normal for a CR1. Good Luck on a speedy interview date, dont worry and start preparing all of your proof. :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

If you are asking about the time differences about K-3 and CR1 as Y's_habibitk told you, but in general K-3 visa is Non-immigrant visa and CR1 is immigrant visa. We made a mistake by apply for k-3 one because it appeared at the end there is not much time differences between both of them. We thought it will much faster, but it is not, and now I am stuck with PA "Administrative processing" which seems most cases go through this sh**t. Sorry.
