Hi. I have a few questions regarding affidavits of support:

1) Current annual income, is it supposed to be an approximate amount? My mother-in-law is not sure what to put in for this one, because she had a cut in her work hours during 4 months(from the end of february to the end of June). She is getting paid every 2 weeks, so her cut was from 10 working days to 9 working days(as of one pay stub). Since the end of June she is working full time 5 days a week again, but she has no idea what to put as he current annual income? Can it be a sum of what she has already earned plus the estimated amount she is going to earn in the next 6 months?

2) As far as the tax returns, she has verious additional forms she sent to the IRS attached to the tax return (example:"Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet-Line 70","Earned Income Credit", "Educational Credits", "Credit for Qualified Retirment Savings Contributions", and mortgage interest statement)-all of that is attachments to her federal tax return, do they need to be sent to USCIS,too?

3)Your income for the past 3 years: should the amounts be taken from the line "Adjusted Federal Gross Income" on the tax returns or from a different line?

Thank you all in advance!

Can it be a sum of what she has already earned plus the estimated amount she is going to earn in the next 6 months?

Take what she is earning now and project it out for a year. That will give you the annual income.

In this case, I would recommend she contacts the IRS and have them fax/mail over her tax transcripts (get the last three years) - it's free. They will have everything she will need to provide as evidence.

3)Your income for the past 3 years: should the amounts be taken from the line "Adjusted Federal Gross Income" on the tax returns or from a different line?

You list gross income BEFORE all the deductions, line 22 on his 1040

Thank you all in advance!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
