Hello Fellow members,

Just wanna ask those who know or had experience on this issue? We have our biometrics appointment for August 12 for me removal of condition and was wondering if we can do the walk in before that date?

We will have the bio in Atlanta office.. Can't find their phone #...do we have to just go their and do the walk in bio? or we need to call them first?

We have another appointment with the DFA consulate on that same date so we are thinking of doing the bio at the same day to make just one trip.

WOuld they allow us to do the biometrics ahead of the appointment date? Thanks in advance for those who will share their answers.

It pretty much every case I've seen - as long as you have your Biometric Appointment letter, the ASC will allow you to 'walk-in.'

We did not even say anything just handed the letter filled out the form and he was in and out in 10 minutes. We went 2 weeks ahead of time

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

It really depends on the office. I am in Texas and the office i went to, Fort Worth, doesn't accept walk-ins...even though there is almost nobody there.

I say if you ain't driving for long to get there, it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Actually, I think the Atlanta ASC doesn't allow walk-ins. On the notice you receive it says if you cannot make the appointment you need to return the letter advising them and they will reschedule another appointment. On ASCs that allow walk ins they generally mention that you can show up on a Wednesday or a Friday if your appointment date isn't good. There have been VJers here who have tried to do walk-ins for the Atlanta ASC and were turned away. Certainly you can try going early and doing a walk-in but I suspect that you won't be allowed to do your biometrics and will be required to come back on your appointment date.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I see this question asked a lot and would like to put a different twist on it. Of those people who have done a walk in, does it speed the process up any, or do you just sit in line until the date you were given before it gets processed?

I called the 1800 number this week to ask the same thing.....

I was told by 2 different people that you can't do a walk-in in Atlanta any more.

If you decide to go, please let us know if you were successful.

My appointment is 14 August.

I am only about 45 minutes drive from the centre. Why the heck they moved it from down town Philly to the North East hellhole I will never know. If it speeds the process up any I will drop in and see what happens but I just do not see the point of doing so unless we have any evidence that it makes any difference to time scale. If anyone has any experience of this I would really appreciate hearing it guys. Thank you in advance.

Atlanta's website states they don't take walk-ins except for military. My DIL did a walk-in in Metairie, LA last week, but not until they pulled out their military IDs. The worst that can happen is to be turned away. I am not sure what they would have done if they had not allowed her to get them, as he is classed up for several months. Thy might have a bit more mercy on people who have to travel more than a couple hundred miles.
