Hi! My now-husband entered the US last September on a K-1 visa... we married in October 08 here in Seattle... our adjustment of status interview is finally set for August 6. I just realized that my US passport will be expired by then. Can't get a new one on time. Also can't locate my SS card at the moment... do I need to worry about presenting an expired passport as proof of sponsor's US citizenship at my interview? Thanks! Also, if there is a separate AOS forum, could you tell me where it is?

You'll be fine with your passport - it is still you afer all - not sure you'd even need to show your SS card so wouldn't worry about that either.

There is an AOS forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=7

Your driver's license is also acceptable as proof of who you are. They don't want your SS card anyway. But if you are worried, you can usually get your new passport ten days after you file so long as you pay the extra fee.

Are you a naturlized citizen? Or born in the US? If needed just make sure to have an original of you BC in case they want the proof of your US Citizenship if born here :D

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Thanks everybody! I am just going with my old passport, and my birth certificate card as well...found it and my soc! :) Now I am just really wondering: what does the invitation mean when it says that we need Documents that prove eligibility to adjust status? Isn't that what this whole list of documents is about?? Do they mean anything specific?? our appointment is TOMORROW MORNING!! ahh!! I'm still translating our cards and making copies... Should be fun though from most of what I read here!! :) I can't wait! Thanks for any last minute clarification you can send our way, and say hi if you also are at the Seattle USCIS tomorrow at 8:30. post-70452-1249527237_thumb.jpg :) Lisa and Marcos
