:crying: there are many cases within the us consulate manila where a women will do the interview and pass but the visa will be delayed.i attended my wifes interview and made sure the interviewer knew i was sitting outside the door.she waved and said hello..the visa was delivered 3 days later in our hotel.oh,and 1 more thing.as usc do not wait in the long line to get in.go directly to front of line with your fiance and enter usc door....

Hello there :D

Fist of all congratulations to you and to your wife, God bless your journey together and have a very healthy family :)

As far as I know, no USC can make the process faster than anybody else that has the same waiting as you do. A lot of people who passed the interview received their visas after three working days, because the printing of visas usually is Tuesday, if you have your interview that day then you will received your visa on Friday, I don't know if the US Embassy print visas other than Tuesday.I had my interview before Thursday, and I let my fiance arrived in the Philippines Saturday of the same week, so we can get my Visa on Tuesday the following week :)

The only thing that the USC can do to help the process of their spouses or fiancee is the USC's moral support. If I had my husband (fiance then,, with me before it makes me feel at eased a little bit, hehe). But the CO's are nice anyways, so no worries.

To OP, good luck for the interview, I'm pretty sure that your partner will be happy about your presence soon :dance:

I will be attending my fiancee's interview which will be only the second time I will fly to see her. I don't see this as being frowned upon as you are flying there to support her and we all know how expensive it is to fly to the Philippines. Kevin@Anna mentioned as a USC go straight to the front of the line with my fiancee. Is this normal, won't other fiancee's waiting in line get upset or do I have preference to go to the head of the line since I am the USC who is actually there with his fiancee. I would like to hear any comments on this issue. Thanks and hope to hear from you.

I went to the RP 5 times in a year and a half (felt good to get that free flight from Philippines Airline... finally!). I went to the interview, but I didn't go into the interview with my fiancee. It is her interview so they often don't want the USC in there to interrupt the flow of it all. The COs are just normal employees trying to get through a day of work so to some of the COs, the USC is considered a pain in the back side. I think visiting your fiancee 3 times helps you, but I don't think attending the interview helps anyone especially when trip number 2 is for the interview (my opinion).

I have been wondering about the USC attending the interview. I believe you are right if the petitioner is there they might be in the way. Something that I wondered also is if the petitioner is there the interviewer may perceive this to be a possible coercion. A possible case for forcing the Filipina. This would be a chance for the Filipina to think over if she really wants to do this. Just a thought.

I have never once heard of a case of a visa being denied because the CO thought the beneficiary was being coerced or manipulated into applying for the visa. If anything, they would think the opposite - the beneficiary is playing the petitioner in order to get a visa.

When the CO doesn't want the petitioner to participate in the interview it's usually because they don't want the petitioner feeding answers to the beneficiary, or trying to put pressure on the CO. The petitioner isn't the one applying for the visa.

My opinion is if you can attend the interview then you definitely should do so. In every story I've read where the petitioner attended the interview, they either said it helped or didn't make any difference. I've never read anything where someone thought it hurt their case.

IMO the only way it could hurt is it the petitioner did not know much if anything about the beneficiary or the family...

Not sure about the "front of the line thing" Elena and I waited like everyone else, but it was worth the trip to be with her during the interview.

Hi everyone,

I hope all is well and everyone is making progress with their visa journey. Our K1 was approved two months ago and interview is scheduled in Manila on 8/25/2009. I will visit my fiance for the 3rd time within the last 1.5 yr and we're thinking if we both should attend the interview. Please let us know if it is advisable to attend interview together.

Thank you

I would not have a missed it and suggest it to anyone. For the sake of your fiancee if nothing else.
