In the past week or so I have moved from being something like 273 to being 275, and today I'm 277. How is this even possible? Is it just that people who filed months ago are just now filling out their timelines? Are people being moved from the "three months beyond" list to the "within service time" list? Does this normally happen?

Yes (more than likely)... dates tend to fluctuate (sometimes wildly) until they (tend to) stabilize as you get closer to your likely adjudication range..

How are you 277? my NOA1 is 4/14 and I am 308? Is there a way to sort out some apps that are not supposed to be there? I see you being 364? Let me know...

And yes we are moving back because Vermont is not approving anyone and people are just now finding this website and entering their timelines. Igor's list is just a percentage of the people actually applying. There are people that have applied for K-1 and never been to this website.

Mike, that happened to me when I first filed. For a month or so, my number went up instead of down. I think it's just as you say: people who didn't know about the site find it & fill in their timelines a bit after filing.

Ovi, you two may be looking at diff versions of Igor's List. There's the old version & the newer one. I used to have both links in my signature, but ever since NOA2 I got rid of them.

Found the links:

Older version (still updated, but the numbers differ): http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/vsc.aspx

New version (linked to from this site): http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthl...=2&sortby=2

thanks for the reply. I see it now... I wonder what the difference is and how they weed out the apps.

The estimated time changes because it is based on the dates that people reported after they received their NOA2. Then this website uses the reported dates to estimate the dates for people who haven't receive NOA2.

So many people do not fill in their timelines and do not update them promptly. I think that is called selfishness. It hurts those of us who are watching the clock.

It took me over 2-1/2 months after my NOA-1 date to stumble upon Igor's list and then to complete my timeline. I didn't realize in the beginning that there is another place to enter my timeline other than my signature. For many people, I think they are just doing their best and taking their time to figure out the complexities of their visa journey and the VJ website itself -- rather than being selfish. When I get NOA-2, I will be quick to update my timeline and elicit congratulations from my new VJ friends!

As I understand it, Igor's list just tracks a small sample (no idea what %) of all the applications that are out there. I wouldn't worry at all what your number is on the list, but just look at the NOA-2 dates that people are filling in in order to get a rough idea what your wait time may be like.

I think you misunderstand what I am talking about. I'm not talking about estimated time, I'm talking about the actual number I have on igor's list. That, at least theoretically, should never go backwards. There can't be more people who applied in April today than there were yesterday, as that'd require time travel.

Today I'm number 279 on the list, so I am continuing to go backwards.

Simple answer... new members adder timelines that had NOA1 prior to yours.. It is not that you moved back really.. its that others that were ahead of you made it known that they are there...
