Shouldn't be an issue, since you are in a re-payment plan and all.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

i ammended my tax return and owes some taxes but im in payment plan right now. do u think i get denied if i apply for citizenship because of this?

In the manual there is info on that - you need to show that you have a payment plan with IRS and then you'll be all set.

As long as IRS is happy, so is USCIS.

Sorry, can't help but comment that neither is really happy until they cleaned you out. Least with the USCIS, they are off your back once you get your certificate, too bad the IRS doesn't offer a certificate as well, they will always be on your back.
