Packet 4 is sent to the beneficiary, not the petitioner. Your wife should have received it from the Consulate.

The timeline looks a bit thin. You have a huge gap between the time that you left VN and your return. If you are a married couple (even living so far apart for some time) there have to be things that occured between you / conversations that a married couple would have.

What about more things you may have done with her family? You only listed having lunch with your father in law once. Do you have any family there and did you do something with them? Any more trips together (Da Lat, Nha Trang, Suoi Tien park, Dai Nam park?)

If I were a CO in a bad mood I would wonder about the truth of your relationship. Met online and 8 days later go to Vietnam to visit someone and move in together 2 weeks later. Only been there once to spend time with your wife. No wedding party on your trip? Don't say much about each other's family.

In my opinion, you will need a more complete story for the interview.

About 6 years ago I met Trang Vu’s cousin Mrs. Lan Vu at her place of business. After a few years we had become friends as I helped them with a couple of problems such as helping to change their business license and such. About two years ago Mrs. Vu asked me to talk to Trang Vu who is a cousin. At that time I was not interested as I had just gotten out of a relationship. She asked a few times and I said no. After time and about the Summer of 2007 I came to Mrs. Lan Vu and asked her if she would introduce me at that time to her cousin Trang Vu. She consented and in July we talked on the phone. Trang at that time spoke little English and I spoke no Vietnamese. After a few months I knew that talking on phone with her cousin listening in and interpreting for us was not gonna work. I asked Trang if they had someplace to get internet and gave her my email and yahoo messenger ID.

By the end of the year Trang Vu and I started to chat exclusively by yahoo chat with cam as we were able to see each other while we chatted and it enabled us also to talk by the call function. We at first had a tough time at first as she had started learning English but I found a website by the name of Vdict.com and it helped a lot. Many times I was able to google a pic to explain and also to send her pics in real time to show her my house, family, etc. Over time we were able to learn much about ourselves and find many common interests.

About February of 2008 I was ready to go and visit Trangs family. I asked Lan Vu and Trach Vu about and they said they would be going to Vietnam March and that I could come along. After a bit of checking my schedule and them theirs we found April to be the best time. Up to that time we had just gotten to know each other well. Exchanging pics of us and friends and family and such. We started talking about maybe getting engaged about January and February and what it was we wanted for future. I knew she came from very large family and I like kids but just wanted a couple. Also I have a house already and love where I live. By mid March as it got close to leave for Vietnam I knew that Trang and I would be engaged and asked what needed to be done to secure this from Mr. Vu. I talked to Trang and it was agreed that I would come meet her and her family and if we still felt very comfortable with each other and her father agree that we would become engaged.

April 7th Mr. Trach Vu and I left and flew to Vietnam and arrived in Ho Chi Minh city. We were picked up by Trang’s family and drove to their home in Bac son village in Dong Nai province. We stayed here the whole time and I occupied my own room upstairs. It was very late when arrived so spent little time with family and Trang and went to bed. The next day I met Trang family and over the next few days Trang and I and various family members spent time and did some sightseeing. We went into Ho Chi Minh city one day and I stopped by the consulate even. I talked with a girl at front window and was treated very nice and professional. I want to say thanks for this. We went Vung Tau also. A seaside resort and spent all day at the beach and even climbed a couple of mountains to go up in Jesus and a Virgin Mary statue. Trang and her family are very much Catholic.

Finally I talked to Trang father and asked if it was ok for us to be become engaged and then marry and he consented. He said he liked me very much and thought I would be a good husband. Later that night Trang and I sat upstairs in the sitting area and we talked and I asked her to marry me and become engaged. I let her know she could take time and think about it but she accepted right away. We then talked about the many problems ahead on getting visa and coming to America and she was undaunted and still willing. We then went down and told her father. Two days later we had a big get together and family from all over came to meet me and see their new coming family member. Trang and I talked and she wanted to wait to get a ring and just get a wedding ring when she came to the States and we can go together. I agreed. I must say the custom of drinking beer with many family members was a bit much but Trang mother was great and said No to many. It was a great dinner and had much fun. Trang family has shown they are good hard working, God fearing. Since I am the same way I can tell we will do well together.

Trang and I spent much time together after until I had to fly home. It was very sad and Trang held up well. I was told she cried a lot after I was gone. Since then Trang and I are constantly in touch and her English has improved so much that we usually never need help. We both have translating dictionaries but now seldom need. Trang has done very well in her English classes and I also help a lot with her teaching. Also she has picked up very well the history of America and of course Texas. We both are now very excited and it is hard to wait to marry and go on with our future but we are both patient people. Thanks in advance for any consideration taken on this Visa application.

Hi Bui,

Sorry to say, but your timeline is very simple, and bored. Here's the sample about your timeline.

For instances. On 5/10/08, When I first met My Ha at Diem Saigon, she wearing red t-shirt, blue jeans, blad blad blad. You have to describe more detail on your relationship. Just thinking of writing an essay with 4 or 5 pages long. If you need my timeline.. PM me.

I think you should describe more detail on the dates that your meet her, moving in. How is met your dad, how is your dad impression on her.

good luck.

This is not timeline, this is the Statement of Relationship.

The timeline is very short and you don't need to list detail you did every day. It should be briefly and within 1 page if possible.

For example:

01-13-2004: First contact by email on web:.....

09-23-2005: His first trip to VN. First meeting in person.

09-29-2005: He returned to US.

Continued for email sending.

02-08-2006: His second trip to VN.

02-21-2006: He returned to US

03-08-2006: He proposed by telephone and I agreed.

04-03-2006: Filed for fiance visa.

09-23-2006: His third trip to VN.

Timeline is just simple as above.

That is why there is the Statement of Relationship. It is a kind of "detailed" timeline.

If you submit the Statement of Relationship, it will be more simple. We only submitted Statement of Relationship, no timeline.

Others have submitted a statement of relationship as #18 129F how we met and been asked by blue slip to submit detailed timeline....

I have seen bulleted timelines like that pass as well as be frowned on and requesting for more detail...

The above long example is the Statment of Relationship, that's what I saw in this page. I have no idea why they got blue slip, it may be other reasons.

It also depends on the man on US, if he is American, she must be fluently in English, it is the main evidence. If he is Vietnamese American, she have to prove by other evidence.
