I forgot to say something: the reason this question was and is (for a future AOS) so important to me is the fact that I depend only on myself. Nobody, I repeat, nobody will ever be my cosponsor. Therefore, if I cannot support my future wife, I cannot go through this process.

Your call of course, but at least your options should be clear. You either meet the financial requirements, or you don't. My point is just that you don't have to fret all the way up to the interview, because you're going to know well beforehand if you meet the requirements. Good luck!
