Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience with everyone. On Monday I crossed the Canadian/US border (going into US). I only provided the officer with my drivers license and birth certificate. He fortunately didn't give me a hard time about not using my passport. He asked the purpose of my visit - I said to visit my husband. He asked if he was American - I said yes. He asked if my husband is moving to Canada. I said NO, I'm moving to the USA. He asked me if i was getting a passport. I told him i have one, but I misplaced it in Canada. He then asked if I was getting a Visa - i said yes, we already applied and waiting on approval. He said Ok have a nice day. END OF STORY.

I really dreaded crossing the border since I was only in Canada for 1 week> I have spent 4 months in the US, and returning after spending 1 week in Canada.

After crossing I was so excited because 1 time they refused me entry and i had to return with job letter and pay stubs and a rental agreement. (this allowed me entry)

I just wanted to share this with everyone, because it is possible to cross the border without passport and cross after applying for Visa.

I hope everyone else who is going through this process has it this easy, because showing up at the border you never know what may happen.
