not during takeoff or landing.. the pilot will tell you when it is OK...

LOL its nice to see such an off the wall question. The poster before me answered it for you but i will expand. The pilot/steward will make announcements telling you when it is ok to use your device. You can also ask the steward if you are unsure. Have a great trip.

You can use a cell phone and other devices mentioned over 10,000 feet,,, but, only if you can disable the communications mode...

And normally u can use the cell phone as soon as you land,,, but, they will tell you when,,, and when in doubt just ask.

Good Luck with your new life,

You can sit on the plane while people are boarding and talk to your friends on your cell phone until they are ready to close the door to the plane and move away from the gate. They will make an announcement..."At this time we ask that you turn off all electronic devices....."

I don't know - approaching the US - maybe two hrs from landing this brat from a missionary group was texting and texting and texting away until I notified the flight attendant - he was sitting next to me. His group leader wasn't too happy that he even had his phone on pretty much from the beginning of the flight. Don't really care what happened to him afterwards

If that's so, then why were several of those on the 4th hijacked plane on 9/11 able to call family before the final action they took that prevented the terrorists from achieving their objective?

Because they were at low altitude. Cell phones will NOT work at regular cruising altitude and regardless shouldn't be turned on at any altitude.

You can call the airline and ask for their in-flight magazine.

It should have most info you need to know.

Electronic gadget banning...

How to fill out immigration forms and customs declaration form...

Don't try to raise your hands during take-off/landing, and saying loudly, "Talleban!".

It's one of jokes for answers of the question, "what should I do for my first flight experience?".

Others including... but not limited to...

- Stand up while taxing off...

- Pay $10 for every meal you get during the flight

- Give TIP for flight attendant, $1 per every requests.

- Every blanket/pillow is the rental, so you should pay $5 for each.

- Ask for shower room before landing
