Pooky, can you just confirm that you wish to play a joker this week? I'm assuming that's what you're infering with the smiley, but I want to be sure. Thanks.

Yes, I can confirm I am just about mad enough to play one of my jokers. And I've just noticed there are an awful lot of 3:1 scores in my predictions, so either we will have a fantastic weekend of football, or my points score is gonna suck harder than a Dyson.

Interesting weekend's action, with some scores I don't think anyone saw coming (West Ham coming back from 2-0 down against Arsenal, anyone?) but that's what makes this little compo so unpredictable. Some pretty average efforts, with myself and Craig topping this week's poll with a respectable 16pts.

Crucially, Craig has gotten decent (if not spectacular) production from his joker usage this week, which sees him move into second place, just the one point behind Pooky, whose own use of the joker was not so productive - oh well.

Scores:

Damian - 16

Craig - 16 (32)*

RKL - 14

Colin - 13

PP - 11

Pooky - 11(22)*

Disney - 10

Nicky - 7

*Joker played (points doubled).

Table:

Pooky - 146 (1)

Craig -145 (1)

Damian - 134 (2)

RKL - 132 (2)

Colin - 129 (1)

Nicky - 126 (2)

PP - 104 (2)

Disney - 98 (1)

I'm a little annoyed now. We're scoring for fun in the Carling Cup, a 4:0 win against Stoke tonight. Some might say that Stoke made 10 changes from the team that beat the Spuds last weekend, but we made 7, too.

So why not stick with the 7 changes if they're so damn good at scoring??!!

I can just see it now, Carling Cup winners, playing in Europe, despite being relegated after getting 8 points all season.

Apart from preventing us signing Eugen Bopp (if he's a sizeable lad, could he be the next Big Bopper?), what is the point of a temporary transfer ban? We can't sign any real players until the January Transfer Window anyway. And by then we'll be on our fifth, or maybe sixth, new owners this season.

That alone would be funny - one manager surviving three different owners so far, maybe a fourth in the not too distant future. What a season.

I'll be away next week, going back to the UK on vacation. :D So just put me down for 2-0 home wins. Shall be at the Newcastle game. Can hardly wait!

Nicky, I've invariably found that 2-1 home wins are the way to go when you just blanket predict, but if 2-0 across the board is what you want, then that's what I'll give you. In either case, should your blanket predictions be lower than that week's RKL score, you'll get the RKL score.
