In every Interacial marriage fora ( including this forum) if someone wanted to divorce her husband because the husband cheated on her, or the husband abused her emotionally and physically, many people jump to conclusion that she only after the GREEN CARD or American Citizenship??

What's up with that?? why on earth Foriegn brides can't divorce their abusive husbands?? if you don't want your wife to divorce you, then please be a GOOD HUSBAND TO HER, treat her nice so, she will stay inlove and stay married to you. I am sick and tired hearing of this BS that "We foriegn Women are only after the GREEN CARD or American Citizenship" :protest:

"True Love is never associated with violence, deception, abuse ( emotional, physical or verbal) constant sacrifice for the good of only one person, jealousy, fear or mistrust"

Can't say I got sick and tired when told she is marrying me just to get here and because of my money, just considered the source. But had to add, in regards to getting screwed, can show you my divorce settlement with my ex-USC wife. Also had to add, wife had to make great sacrifices to come here plus experience that major ordeal with the USCIS.

Just generalizations, but why does the USCIS get so damned concerned, they won't get screwed, if anyone gets screwed, would be the sponsoring USC.

Domestic violence should not be acceptable in any marriage, inter-racial or otherwise.

When anyone asks for advice here on VJ, they have the choice to take the advice they want and disregard the rest.

I think there are a lot of scammed marriages for the purpose of either the GC or citizenship, and if it happens to you, my heart goes out to you.

IF my husband will hurt me physically or cheat on me, I will really file divorce.

If marriage will end up in divorce but you know that you entered in good faith that the marriage will work, i think people should have no rights judging you as a gold digger. I have a very close friend who just got separated and is filling for divorce because her husband was hurting her physically.

And your interest in this is what from an immigration stand point? Cheating and taking advantage of a spouse is not only related to foreign persons entering the country. This is a fact of life. Abuse should never be tolerated..

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

From the I-751, reasons other than a valid marriage to maintain LPR for the immigrant.

"My spouse is deceased.

I entered into the marriage in good faith but the marriage was terminated through divorce/annulment.

I am a conditional resident spouse who entered a marriage in good faith, and during the marriage I was battered by or was the subject of extreme cruelty by my U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse or parent.

I am a conditional resident child who was battered by or subjected to extreme cruelty by my U.S. citizen or conditional resident parent(s).

The termination of my status and removal from the United States would result in an extreme hardship."

Ha, the immigrant could have murdered the spouse for the first one, a peaceful settlement for the second, abuse is typically the word of one against the other in a court of law, not even an issue in Wisconsin, ignoring a person is considered a form of abuse and can be as simple as not instantly responding to a question. Oh, my tree house fell down, that would be an extreme hardship to go back.

It's like the USCIS is promoting fraud.

For the sponsoring USC, can really get hung with the I-864, $250,000 fine, and/or five years in prison if fraud can be proved, worse case for the immigrant is deportation, if they even bother to check, already have 20 million illegals in this country that are unchecked, what difference does one more make?

These are our laws with absolutely no protection for the USC if things go sour or if fraud was intended by the immigrant. If the USC did get a couple of bucks for bringing a person in, is in a perfect position to be blackmailed by the immigrant with our state marriage laws and that I-864.

As a USC, you have to watch out for yourself and don't expect any protection from the courts or the USCIS.

Hint, if a woman starts sending you nude pictures of herself when you barely met, chances are, she isn't very sincere about you.
