Hello my fellow VJers.

Me and my angel are looking ahead to be sure of what might be needed for her interview, whenever it might be. We read that the HPV vaccine is normally given to women between the ages of 11 and 12. And that if the woman did not receive it by that time she will need what they call a "catch up vaccination" if she is between the ages of 13 and 26.

My fiancee will be 26 years old coming this next July 31st so we are wondering if she might need the vaccine or if she will be out of range since she will be 26 by the time of her medical.

Also given the possibility that she might need it, will she need all 3 shots before coming here if her visa is approved or can she get the first one in Romania and then the rest in Puerto Rico?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

If I were you I'd check on the side effects of the HPV vaccine. LOTS of people are trying to avoid taking the vaccine.

All shots are age appropriate, determined by the medical panel .

If she does end up requiring the vaccine she just needs to start the process in Romania. She can complete it in the US. I believe there are 3 shots in all.

Not so. You can get the visa but may be required to get the shots when in the US and go for AOS. Depends on what the designated civil surgeon requires.

Vaccination Requirements

United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements. See IV Vaccination Requirements for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

I understand that, my point is if the Medical panel has determined at that time! Some cases have required vaccines before entering the US
