Treehugger, I spent hours at a photo store doing a photo book of 38 pages of pics of my hubby and I, our wedding, my hubby and I with my daughter, he & I with his family, blah blah blah. It even included pics of us in Australia when we first met in 1988. Guess what? USCIS sent the photo book back to me the day they opened the package. Now they have zero photos of us. I'm in the same boat as you!

Thanks FinnLove, that makes me feel slightly better :) I bet you still have other stuff though! Arrrgghhh, as scotinmass said so eloquently - MEN!!!

Oh. I thought when you said photos you meant holiday snaps of you together. If they need more evidence they will keep your file at the top of the pile until they receive it from you and then you will be approved. It won't go back to the bottom. An RFE is better than nothing. Try not to stress about it.

Thanks, I'll try my best :) What evidence are you taking to convince the lovely POE officer that you intend returning to the UK before your 90 days are up?

I wish I could stay that long. I'm only there for a week. I'm taking a letter from my employer saying when I'm expected back, mortgage statements, bank statement, gas bill, phone bill, credit card statement, my renewal notice for my road tax. I'm going back in november with my mother for thanksgiving so I'll take a copy of our tickets cos for me to use those tickets I'll have to leave again. Hopefully that will be enough.

Thanks. Well now that I no longer work I've no letter from my employer, I don't have a mortgage, utility bills and bank statements are not a problem, I've already paid my road tax lol...will have to try to think of what else I can use.

I'm so upset, I've just spoken with my husband and it turns out that despite all the evidence we collected, all he submitted were the forms themselves, the marriage certificate, the photos (ie the basic requirements) and....get this, ONE SINGLE affidavit. That's it. That's really going to convince them we have a genuine relationship :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

Wait and see. it might be ok. I am a worrier so I sent everything but the kitchen sink. Lot's of other people wait until they get an RFE or take it to interview. Maybe they keep putting mine aside cos he envelope is too big!

I'd just want to validate what my wife (Señora Bonita) says at Post # 395. The funny thing is that, up to this minute, our case status at the USCIS site still shows as under Initial Review. We have not received any approval email from CRIS either. But today, I received the Approval Notice, dated September 16, 2009, from USCIS. Our last touch was on September 17th and that was when this approval letter was postmarked. We can't rely on the website for updates no more, so, I recommend that you sort your mail attentively!

To abbie and maritoni - many thanks for congratulating my wife!

:dance::dance: Congratulations Abbie!!! I am so excited for you!!!!

I don't have Glaswegian habits. I come from the civilized side of the country!

Yes Boston is said to be the most european city in America. I love New England. It's way better than the old one! The life style is similar to home and Boston is the closest airport. But the winters are sooo cold! I didn't know what cold was until last new year.

Hehe, sorry to any Glaswegians out there, but I love Edinburgh, such a wonderful city :)

Boston that cold? Are you not hardened by the North Sea lol?

Yes I thought I was hard and I could handle cold but when I stepped outside at new year I screamed like a little girl! It's the kind of cold that you worry your ears will snap off!

:rofl::rofl::rofl: I LOVE FLORIDA! MY SUNSHINE STATEm1235.gif

I love your sunshine state too and we intend to be back as much as we can. I thought Disney was for kids and I'd be bored until I went there. I defy anyone to go there and not have a great time. I'm not sure I could handle your summer tho. We went in February and there were days I almost burst into flames!

I just came back from the food and wine festival at EPCOT and it was hot!!!! I don't know what they said the temperature was today but wow we are all fried!!! There was alot of good food there though!!!!! I got sunburnt and I was using an umbrella that I bought from the China kiosk!!!

Love Disney though!! Everyone in my family has an annual pass there including my daughter and her husband....We're all Disney nuts!!!

We sent 6 affadavits, photos, copies of emails,IM's, travel vouchers, plane tix, life insurance policy, etc so I dont think they could possibly want more evidence. I just dont think anyone has looked at it.

My theory is Chicago ships a huge box to CA. CA start from top so earlier filers are on the bottom.

Then another shipment comes and again they start from top so you have people who filed early still stuck in the bottom of the box!

I am fully expecting to need to contact my senator to light a fire under thier butts.

Oh dear oh dear, we definitely didn't submit all of that! Now if it were up to the beneficiary to submit it'd have been verrrrrrrry different

As you say, we can't really do anything until the five month mark :( Not sure if you know this, but if he were applying to immigrate here the entire process takes six months, AND, if one is willing to pay the premium of applying in person, one can get a decision in 24 hours!!! I'm forever hearing from several people (lol my husband wouldn't dare) how backward the UK is compared to the US, but I know that many people, my husband included, would happily beg, borrow or steal in order to have the case resolved that quickly.

I didn't submit that much evidence either. I did include notarized affidavits from personal friends, family and my supervisor and coworkers stating they knew of the relationship and the marriage. I didn't put any pictures in because I read they will want all that evidence at the interview at the embassy. That is when you submit in pictures, emails, phone records etc.....
