i got packet 3 this week after a brief moment of being overwhelmed by the information asked i came on here and it put me at ease THANK YOU VJ!!!!

now my question is this regarding the AOS. Should i just check off that i got everything i need and send back the checklist and DS-230 1, 2 and then in the time until the interview work on the AOS with my wife and her aunt and uncle since we will need a co-sponsor and also take that time to set up her domicile Ie: bank statement and a letter from her aunt and uncle regarding living arrangements with them since they have the room. Would this line of thinking speed things up and also is it dangerous??

also regarding our co-sponsors do we need both of their incomes if they file jointly in the US or is just one of them (the higher of the 2) fine to use?

ok last question........ our household number still 2 or does it grow to 5 as they have a child as well?

thanks to all those that reply and offer advice.

Yes, go ahead and send back the checklist - all you are really saying is that you will have those things in place in time for the interview. Of course you just need to make sure you have all the stuff ready when you get to your interview :)

Go ahead and include both people as co-sponsors. Technically, if you only need the 1 person's income you are just supposed to submit their tax documents, with slips, to prove their individual income - however, recently someone in that situation had to get the other person's tax information after the interview and submit it.

It seems to me that there is at least 1 person doing interviews in Montreal that does not understand the single co-sponsor with a joint tax return scenario - so give yourself less hassle and just get both (that's my suggestion anyway).

I'll leave the household size question for someone else. I know that they will have to include themselves, their child and you - i'm not sure about your spouse though.
