They are not immigrating, just visiting

So insurance for residents is not relevant, Travel Insurance is.

Obviously Travel Insurance covers a lot more than Medical Insurance, but in the US and particularly at this age, it is the biggie.

You said they just want to come here for visit.

That would mean travel insurance.

How long are they coming for and what Insurance arrangements are being made?

A lot of information in this thread.

Does anyone know if any of the health care reform bills on the table address the health insurance need for people 65 and over that are ineligible for Medicare?

I have tried very hard to get an answer on this and just keep getting the run around. I really hate to buy one of these Internet policies for my wife's parents.

This is plain insane. The idea that a 82 year-old Chinese tourist is looking for a job in the US is also insane. Going the immigrant route just so that your parents can visit you once is as insane as well.

I would figure out what you can do to get them a B2. If you can't get them a B2 by any means, I'd meet near the Canadian border, if you catch my drift. Your dad is old enough to die any day, so what are you really risking by attempting them to visit their daughter at least once in their lifetime?
