On this issues, Danno's question is quite legitimate.

Simply saying so, doesn't make it a fact.

Neither does simply disagreeing with it. Then again, you have a knack for this. Someone makes an argument and you seem to feel that by you disagreeing with it, automatically invalidates that person's argument.

For example, you will discredit any and every study or statistic that shines a negative light on minorities and crime. However, I am yet to see you post one shed of evidence of your own illustrating how you are correct.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I said the question was invalid. I explained exactly why it was. Several times in fact.

I need to remember I am dealing with someone who is in the publishing industry. Not a field exactly renowned for logic or intelligence.

Its just one stupid statement after another with you isn't it?

Its not even insulting - its just idiotic.

Sure thing.

Engineering field = illogical

Publishing field = logical

The BA engineering course I graduated from only accepts the top 12% of students in the entire country. But hey, if six says I am stupid then I must be stupid. Hmm are you not just trying to make a case that we shouldn't make assumptions on things we cannot possible answer. IE stupid statements + idiotic

I'd say Checkmate Pom. No wonder Australia is absolutely annihilating Britain in any international ranking, including education where you guys rank quite poorly.

With you two fighting like two 3rd graders fighting over a toy I forgot what Danno's question was, but the bottom line is that there are two different versions of what happened (professor & police officer) and it seems quite apparent that both feel they are in the right. There are two perceptions of the truth but of course there can be only one truth... like others have said at this point we can only speculate as to what the truth is.

Of course. it's always about 'you said'. If six says it then we must bow down.

Boston is actually quite racist.

I can almost agree to that. There's a high school in South Boston that has most of the black students.

and that means?

Indeed.

Besides... what should be relevant was the clear establishment of probable cause for the arrest.

That never existed upon verification of ID. Its right in the report. We are left with a silly-nilly back and forth rooted in attitude problems. Maybe similar to what we see in this thread, although it is clear where the better reading skills lie.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I never said that the engineering field is illogical.

I said that *YOU* would make a bad engineer because *YOU* appear to lack a process of reasoning that employs logic. I say that because you appear to believe that assuming a person's behaviour, based on your own preconceived ideas is legitimate.

There's not much more to it than that - and I would say its very difficult to misunderstand. Of course... you will try and succeed. Again.

The thing is I totally agree with you. I suspect that both parties are at fault here - and its rather unfortunate the whole thing got blown so out of proportion in the news media.

What kind of engineer sells trinkets to tourists at the airport?

Don't be angry that we beat Indians and treat them like ###### in Aus..

Asking questions is an integral part of engineering. Just because we cant solve the question with information at hand does not mean the question is not valid. After all, actions speak louder than words. Even though we don't know enough about the professor to discredit or prove the question, you seem to have made up your mind that the question is dumb.
