This is not a court of law. There are many criminals who walk free just because we cannot prove it was them who did it, even though it clearly was them.

On face value this Gates character is an opportunist who took advantage of the situation to make a name for himself. For a Harvard professor from Boston to pretend this is 60's Alabama, says something about his character.

If Danno had asked whether this guy was gay or not I would agree with you. On this issues, Danno's question is quite legitimate.
