According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yeah this line of argument is incredibly dodgy and almost certain to offend people here from those "certain demographics"

Should really give it a rest.

Since we all behave equally and are all culturally equal, something you have implied before, you should be able to show me stats which prove my "line of argument" wrong.

When race is brought up, then people should be prepared to hear all sides of the argument. Not just the white man is racist line of argument that some like you want us to believe.

Why? You have no interest in having your preconceptions challenged, nor a sense of what is appropriate in mixed company.

Unlike you who apparently has a history of well rounded discussions. Shame I must have missed those threads.

I agree with everyone who thought that this whole thing was ridiculous. I don't know about you, but I would be totally okay if some police dude knocked on my door to make sure that everything was okay. At least they're doing their job. What if his house really was getting robbed? I doubt he would have been nearly as indignant had the police really come to his rescue.

Did you even read the report? Knocked on the door asking if everything was ok? Actually that probably would have been the approach to go with. No, the cop entered the professor's home illegally without a warrant and after identification was given the the policeman by the professor he should have left the illegally entered home!

I have been following this story & honestly its hard to tell which version (the cop's or the professor's) is closer to the truth. On the one hand police officers have a difficult job & I respect what they do. On the other hand I have seen more than a few police officers (either personally or second hand) that are bigoted a-holes.

My guess is (only a guess) is that the professor had an attitude with the cop & the cop in turn got a case of the azz with him & arrested him. Only the cop & professor know the truth & I am guessing their own perceptions of what really happened are quite different. As for President Obama he should have said something to the effect that it was an unfortunate incident & that he hoped the truth would prevail.

Maybe we should have segregated forums so posters may speak more freely

I wouldn't definitely see you in the "white people are dumb but you're the racist" forum.

Why would you be surprised? You openly state people are wrong yet fail to illustrate how your own opinion is right. Gets tiring after a while.

Cpngrats BY. You win the booby prize

You openly rely on stereotypes as unvarnished fact, and as a means of concealing your own obvious biases. There's no arguing with self delusion.

Likewise. You disregard any and every form of evidence or statistics if it involves the two demographics in the US. Then when the evidence is undeniable, you try to shrug it off and divert attention by bringing up historical events and using them to justify the present.
