Inetrview in Bogota on Friday 7/14

We have our interview on Friday, July 14th..... does anyone know if we will be able to pick up the visa that same afternoon or will they make us wait until Monday? Has anyone had this experience before?????

When I had my interview last June, I had to wait the extra day in Montreal and pick it up after 3pm. Now, I am not sure what they would do if your interview landed on a Friday. But in case you cannot stay the weekend, to go to and from montreal, you have the option of going to a Canada Post outlet and picking up a pre-paid express post envelope. They will then send you your package and documentation via Canada Post. Should arrive at your address the week following.

I didn´t think you were asking about Montreal! Any how, I have read of one case where the woman asked them if they would let them pick it up the same day and the interviewer told her "Yes". So! Bogota may let you do it but there is no guarantees. Try posting on PBH Colombia to see what others did when interviewed on Fridays. Good Luck

My petittion will be getting to Bogota in about 2 weeks.....any tips to help it move faster? Did you wait for the packet 3 or send the forms in as soon as you knew the petition was going to Bogota and you had a file number?

Hi Skemper19,

Johanna my fiancée at the time had her interview in Bogota on Friday March 3, 2006 and she had to wait until Monday, March 6, 2006 to get her visa even though it was approved on Friday. They will not give them out until the following work day and after 4:00PM.

Well, he has plane tix for that evening so I am assuming if you don't come in person, and you are in fact approved, they have that option of sending through Domesa right?

Another ?? for you, or anyone, In going over our forms (he is currently in Bogota and did all of his medical exams today) we noticed an error that we made on DS-156, in #18 where it says spouse's name and date of birth, he accidentally put my name and date of birth.... AI AI AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, and, of course, one of them is already at the Dr.'s office in the sealed envelope awaiting his pick up of said envelope tomorrow morning. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Should he make it a point to tell them immediately when he arrives for his interview that he realized he made a mistake on #18? Should he ask the Dr.'s office tomorrow upon picking up the envelope that he needs to delete (white out) one small part on #18? He says they seemed very strict and he was doubtful about even asking. Then he said he's not going to say a word and act surprised when they say something, if they even say something, but I'm pretty sure they will.

As far as I know, they don't do the domesa deal anymore, the beneficiary has to show up the next business day at 4:00PM to pick up the visa, I believe that has been the procedure since around June'05.

Great! Well, if, God willing, he is approved, his flight is for that evening. I guess it will be time to make a call to the Embassy this morning to see what they say. Thanks so much for your help mel!!!!!!!

Just wanted to see if you found any new information as to the procedure for issuing VISAs. Sounds like Mel and Peter have pretty sound information, just wanted to see if ya found out any new information.

Trying to work out the logistics, finances and POSSIBILITY of being there for her interview AND her first trip to the United States. I would really like to be with her during this special event of her coming to the states for the first time.
