NEWARK, N.J. – The mayors of two New Jersey cities and a state legislator are under arrest Thursday as part of a major corruption and international money laundering conspiracy probe.

Federal prosecutors say about 30 people have been arrested. They include Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt, Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano III, Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell and Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini. Federal prosecutors say several rabbis in New York and New Jersey are also arrested. One congregant says a synagogue in New Jersey has been raided.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who has fought corruption in New Jersey's largest city, says it's "an unbelievable morning so far."

A congregant of a synagogue in Deal, N.J., says he was praying Thursday morning when FBI agents entered. Mike Winnick says the agents also removed boxes from the Deal Yeshiva.

what? FBI raiding a synagogue..they must have been rookies..thiought it was a Mosque

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I wonder what they charge for one?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am wondering if it really is time for a ballot box revolution. There are serious problems with governmental systems, at both state and federal level. Whether this is a partly the product of very lax media scrutiny or not, or whether no matter what the rules currently at play lead inevitably to these ever increasing incidences of corruption, one thing is for sure, the people do not seem to be served as well as they could or should be.

This November, New Jersey voters will have a choice between two candidates for Governor - a corrupt Democrat vs a corrupt Republican

Chances are we'll throw out the incumbent D and put in the R. I'm leaning that way myself. But they are both corrupt. Very corrupt.

Perhaps governors have always been corrupt. Perhaps this is a necessary result of having such a huge country. I don't know, it's not a very pretty picture though.

Perhaps.

Personally, I am willing to tolerate corruption if a governor can get most of the rest right. The current GOP candidate is saying all the right things, who knows how much of it he means. He isn't demonizing the cities like NJ Republicans are prone to do. He knows NJ needs more big business, not less and is willing to go toe to toe against Rendell on the issue. He is pro mass transit and smart growth. Time will tell.

Should put them in the racks in center of city ( if convicted) And let tax payers thow dead veggys at them (for a fee ) at put it on pay perview so to pay for courts and jail time.

Which veggies, the ones shaped like penises I assume?
