I just am so happy to have found this place (VJ) especially the regional forums (THANKS SUS) I need someone to hold my hand... we havent filed yet. Just received our marriage cert last week when I was in Jam. Now I have no idea what to do. Thank goodness this place is here! Its giving me lots of encouragment during this stressful time. I just wish I knew what to do next... ugh

THANK YOU!! I was checking out your timeline and see how the time went by fast! I am thinking we will do the CR1 instead of the K3 - but still am up in the air on that one. Any advice you can share about your experience with the embassy in Kton would be appreciated! Again.. "SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PLACE"

I will tell you that I am totally clueless about the CR1/K3 process. It is handled a lot differently after NOA2 approval from USCIS than the K1 visa. I think most of the paperwork in second part is handled by NVC...but I don't know the forms involved..the fees that have to be paid etc. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

How long have you been married? Do you care to share your story with us?

How long have you been married? Do you care to share your story with us?

 would love to share! I've been a visitor of Jamaica for years, have friends there and go to relax and visit. Never thought the person I would spend the rest of my life with would live there! Strangely, we didnt even MEET in Jamaica. Story goes, a friend from work told me I was a complete loser for not being on Facebook. So, relunctantly, I join one day last September. I found college friends, highschool friends- and decided to search for some Jamaican friends! I stumbled across him - a fuzzy picture of this guy in the road. I message him to see where he was from if he knew "so and so" and we became friends instantly. Long story short, he calls me three days later, we get closer than I thought imaginable for someone I've never met- and when I see him the first time last December- fell in love. He proposed in March of this year.. i suspected a bit he would :) We were going to do a K1, but he wanted his family there, and what a beautiful place for a wedding. So we opted to get married there instead, May 28, 2009. Was just there last week to obtain our marriage certificate.. and now the real journey begins...

We've got four kids between us. I worry he will miss them while he is here, although he would like to bring his son here to go to school once he reaches that age. I worry that the embassy wont let him come here knowing he has minor children there..

oh goodness.. another question I better post!!
