ALMOST done with my I-130 packet. I was ready to insert the id photos, but upon reading the photo guide http://travel.state.gov/pdf/Photo%20Guide%2010-01-04.pdf it says photos should be 2 by 2 inches. :o

Why is it that the photo on my passport is 3.5 by 4.5 centimeters and all the id photos I've ever seen are in those dimensions? Are the required dimensions really 2 by 2 inches? Am I crazy or is that not normal passport photo dimensions?

Thanks,

Lewis

I found some "related topics" already discussing this, listed below. too bad the search function in this forum doesn't work too well or I wouldn't have asked about it. I guess I'll either have to try to take the photos myself or find some place in Lyon France that could do it for me, that is, if there's a word for "2 inches" in French.

The photos that I've sent in so far have not been the 2x2 size, but rather the ID photos that you mentioned.

I've had no issues with what I've submitted....which are about the a passport photo size, but not a 2x2.

I bet you could have the photos taken at any photo in Lyon, France  All you have to tell the photographer is that you need photos for a green card

From ur timeline I see you got married in Feb. Too bad you didn't file with all the Lucky Feb Filers back then... We got really lucky, process seemed to be so fast...

anyway, just wanted to say 9.gif to VJ and have a speedy process

u r dealing with USA

USA does paperwork really well...and by well I mean a lot of paperwork

dot I

cross T

if they give you a specific dimension ...use that dimension. To do otherwise just gives someone a reason to throw a RFE on your case.

be silly to get photos rejected when they clearly tell you all the dimensions and other criteria that are to be used.
