Boy... we went through some stuff, but by God's grace my husband got his visa. First of all, I made an error in posting that the interveiw date was on the 13th of July, it was actually on the 16th. Here's what happend. My husband arrived at the embassey 4 hours early (lol) bless his heart, he carried the results of his medical exam, pictures of our wedding and reception ceremonies, pictures of us at the park, visiting Limpopo...emails, phone bills, life insurance policy, copy of our website,money gram receipts...

The counselor asked him if I supported him financially due to the money gram receipts, We thought that the examiner might frown upon that, but he then explained that we have a ministry and I send my tithe to him to help support his ministry while in that country, she then said, "it's okay", she found a minor error on our marriage licenseso, the counselor made him go to South Africa Home Affairs to get it corrected which would've normally taken weeks to have corrected (thank God Almighty that we have a dear friend that works in Home Affairs who got this corrected in a few hours), she then had an issue with his affidavit of birth. My husbands birth was never recorded due to he was born during a civil war. I submitted a certified copy of certification of birth from the embassey of Nigeria in South Africa, along with a notarized avidavit from his eldest sister which was fine with NVC, but not sufficient at the U.S. Embassey. So, my husband had to furnish a copy of an elementary school record indicating the years the he attended(got it in two days), Then the counselor told my husband that he needed a co-sponser and gave him some form for his supposed co-sponser to fill out. When my husband told me this I lost it! i called the embassey livid! i told the counselor How much my yearly income is, and that i could afford to support 10 families, why was she telling my husband that he needs a co-sponser. This woman then told me that my husband gave her inadequete financial documents when in fact he had no financial documents to give her, all of my documented information was sent from NVC. I asked her about my NVC packet contents and she said that the NVC failed to furnish my financial information. So, I scanned a copy of my bank account with all of my deposits for that month and emailed it to the counselor and it was accepted! When my husband returned to the embassey with the corrected marriage license, they doubted the authenticity because he was able to obtain it in one day, so they sent him away until they could prove that the document was legitimate. The next day they called my husband and told him to return to the embassy with his passport. Today my husband has his visa To God Be The Glory!

oct. 15,2008 -----shows PAID

oct. 16,2008 -----mailed DS230 overnight

oct. 23,2008 ---- RFE

nov. 3,2008 ----- case complete

nov. 26,2008 --- medical exam

aug. 14,2009 --- remedical finally, passed

aug. 24, 2009 -- interview , passed

aug. 29, 2009 -- visa in hand

sept. 24, 2009 -- POE LAX

I thank you all for your kind regards and hope that this encourages those who may face some challenges at the embassy. Just stay prayerful!!! I'm really not trying to be prejudice or anything like that, but it seems that the counselors really really dont want many Nigerians in the United States. Man didnt make this country, God did. Blessings to all :star:
