HI i am a 22 year old US citizen who is trying to bring her husband from Colombia to the states. I already filed form I-130 and now i have received instructions asking for affidavit form. I know what it is but since the past year I have been attending college and not working , i didn't do income taxes for 2008 I did file 2006 and 2007 taxes , but my mom has also declared me for those years and 2008 also, how does that affect me? I don't know what to do, they had told me i should find a sponsor, some one to file affidavit of support with me, i have a friend that declares about 28,000 a year would she help. I really don't know what to do.

I feel pretty lost, if anyone could give me some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.... Thanksssssssssssss

Read the VJ Guides and the instructions for the I-864 Affidavit of Support.

You will have to explain why and give proof of the reason for not filing in 2008. You will file an I-864 as the primary sponsor even if you have no income. You would need to find a cosponsor. The person does not have to be a family member.

Form I-864P shows the income requirements for each household size. You and your cosponsor will want to consult this to be sure that incomes are sufficient.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?
