I received my noa1 4/3/09 but haven't heard or recieved nothing since. Can someone please tell me how to work the part where you can see if your file has been touch. I tried and got nothing but the same date as the receipt #. Does anyone know how much more time will it be for my letter noa2(approval) to come? I filed at the Vermont center. Need help, new at this, and no to good at the computer.

Hello and welcome to the bunch. I'm also a April filer. At Vermont also. All that the USCIS site says about my petition is that it was received. SAme as you. But don't rely on this only. They rarely update the info. Many here has their NOA 2 for quite some time, some even with their SO in USA and even married, and the site still only says that their I-129F was received.

About how long it will take for your NOA 2......expect about 4-5 months, probably 6. VSC is now slow compared with CSC.

Thank you so much for the reply. I saw where it take about 213 days from noa1 to visa received, if that is true, that is about 7 months for every thing. It has been almost 4 months now, i sure hope it isn't 6 months. How do these people know that there file has been touched?

A "touch" means literally that something was done with your file. From being simply opened to being moved to another desk. Each file has a barcode an whenever something is done with the file it has to be scanned. When something like that happens, the date showed in USCIS site is updated. Thus it means that you've been "touched".

About the time.....hang in there. It's not by chance alone that this process is considered the hardest. But you are not alone. There are many in the same boat and we help by giving each other support. You are welcome to rant or vent your frustration at any time though. We will hear you and help you.

We Vermont April filers have a thread. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189234 Whenever you want pass by and drop a word or two. hehehe

Yes, come join us in the April VSC thread! We're not an overly talkative bunch, but it helps to have those in the same timeframe to rant with.

Also, filling out your timeline allows you to view where your dates align with everyone else who has filed in the same timeline. It helps other users to gauge their time too.

Thanks for being helpful, I am seeing people get there noa2 before us and filing after I did. This one guy wrote and has already received his noa2 and he filed late april, but he filed at California center. I read somewhere that Vermont skiped over 1/2 of March and all of April petitions and are working on Mays. I just don't understand all of this, the waiting isn't what bothers me, it is these timeline are all different, some get noa2 in 3 to 4 months from Vermont and others haven't heard nothing in 4 or 5 months. I just would like to know if our file is being looked at. Sorry to vent.

One question....are you sure you were watching Vermont's stats on Igor's list? It all sounds like you were watching California. The list shows California by default. You have to switch to Vermont.

Tom

It could have been a military expedite. That's the only way I can think of that that particular petition was approved so quickly.

Hang in there OP. There are a lot of people waiting in line and VSC seems to be slowing down instead of speeding up.

It looked like in July someone accidently pulled a box from March or something, because for a brief period people who filed in March were getting approved. Who knows?

I think that what happened was that a few people whose NOA1's where from the very very beginning of March got thrown into a box full of February NOA1 files. Then again, who knows. Right now it appears that VSC is at a virtual standstill. I swear, I need to get a script for valium just to deal with this stress.
